    Abstract: PURPOSE: A test piece manufacturing method for measuring the austenite grain size of chrome-molybdenum steel is provided to minimize the measuring error, and to improve the reliability of the test by optimizing each process. CONSTITUTION: A test piece is obtained by cutting the material with a cutting machine, and the test piece is mounted to the resin and formed with the desired shape and the size for easily treating and processing. The surface of the test piece is processed by grinding the resin and the test piece with the polishing machine. The processed test piece is eroded in the corrosive agent. The eroded test piece is washed and dried and manufactured to measure the austenite grain size of chrome-molybdenum steel. The grain boundary is separated securely to measure and analyze the test piece easily.

    Abstract: PURPOSE: A method of fabricating a test sample for an X-ray fluorescence spectrometer is provided to shorten a test sample treating time and to prevent harmful gas from being created by performing a pre-treatment of the test sample without using storing acid. CONSTITUTION: After sampling a test sample to be analyzed, the test sample is pulverized by using a pulverizer. Then, 20 to 40 weight percent of polyvinyl alcohol, which is a bonding agent, is added to the test sample. After that, the test sample mixed with polyvinyl alcohol is compressed in a pallet shape by using a compressor. The pulverizing process for the test sample is carried out in such a manner that a size of the test sample is in a range about 1400 to 1600 meshes. The compressing process is carried out under compression load about 15 to 25 tons.
