    Abstract: PURPOSE: A device for controlling the pressure of a crankcase is provided to satisfy regulations related with exhaust gas and to prevent degradation in the sealing efficiency of a crankcase by keeping the negative pressure in the crankcase through the bi-directional driving of a fan. CONSTITUTION: A cylinder head cover(4) is communicated with an intake system(6) via a breather line(7), and a fan case(8) is installed on the breather line. A fan(10) rotating by a bi-directional driving motor(9) in the fan case, and an ECU(Electronic Control Unit)(11) controls the motor according to the pressure of a crankcase(2) sensed by a pressure sensor(12). The crankcase is communicated with the cylinder head cover via the breather line. The positive pressure of the crankcase is applied to the ECU, and the ECU forwardly drives the motor to forwardly rotate the fan motor. Then, blow-by gas in the cylinder head cover is forcibly blown to the intake system. Thus, negative pressure is formed in the cylinder head cover and pressure of the crankcase communicated with the cylinder head cover becomes negative. Therefore, a regulation related with exhaust gas is satisfied. When engine rpm is high, negative pressure in the crankcase is over a specific level and the motor is backwardly driven. Then, air is blown to the cylinder head cover from the intake system. Pressures in the cylinder head cover and the crankcase rise.
