Abstract: PURPOSE:To provide a titled detector of superior shading characteristic and good operability by turning a shading cylinder and making the controlling for mounting, dismounting and positioning of a scintillator vessel easy. CONSTITUTION:The mounting and dismounting states of a scintillator vessel 24 are shown in the figure. At this time, a shading cover 34 is so turned and positioned as to oppose to the open and close mark 56 attached to the case 54 of the body 10 of a measuring device with respect to a reference mark 52. In this state, a lock pin 42 is in the position matching the notch 46 of a retainer ring part 44, and therefore the cover 34 can be opened and closed freely with respect to a shading cylinder 22. Since an energizing spring 32 is provided between the bottom part of the cylinder 22 and a vessel receiving plate 30, if the cover 34 is opened, the vessel 24 on the plate 30 is pushed out to the outside of the cylinder 22 by the pressing force of the spring 32, by which the removal of the vessel 24 is accomplished extremely easily.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To measure accurately a pollutive radiation dose by operating a false background (BG) radiation dose before and after the start of measurement in an arithmetic circuit and subtracting a BG radiation dose in accordance with presence/absence of the variation and the segulation. CONSTITUTION:A BG detector 12 is arranged near each of radiation detectors 10 (10a-10e). Detectors 10 and 12 generate rays corresponding to a radiation dose, and these rays are converted to electric pulse signals proportional to the quantity of light, and they are supplied to pollutive radiation dose counters 16 (16a-16e) and BG radiation dose counters 18 through amplifying circuits 14a- 14f. Counters 16 count the BG radiation dose before measurement of the pollutive radiation dose and the total radiation dose at the measurement time, and counters 18 count the false BG radiation dose after and before the start of measurement. Radiation doses counted by counters 16 and 18 are supplied to an arithmetic circuit 20, and the circuit 20 operates the regulation of the false BG radiation dose before and after the start of measurement, and BG subtraction is performed in accordance with the regulation and the net pollutive radiation dose of a material to be examined is displayed on a display device 22.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To easily read a counting rate value by displaying only digits which are converged on a specific criterion among the respective digits of the counting rate value and displaying specific characters other than numbers as other digits. CONSTITUTION:A control part 28 decides the effective digits of the counting rate value calculated by a divider 24. Then when a digit of 10(D10) are decided, it is judged whether or not the relative standard deviation (sigma) of the total number (N) is smaller than a predetermined effective digit criterion m10 for the digit of 10; when it is judged that sigma >= m10, an ineffective display of all digits, i.e. a display of specific characters other than numbers or a blinking display of specific intervals is made. When it is judged that sigma = m1, the blinking display as the ineffective display of digits other than the digit of 10 (D10) is made.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To decide radioactivity contamination in a short time by making an advance to a next decision step when a set stepwise alarm level is exceeded and deciding that the contamination is below an alarm level when not. CONSTITUTION:A radiation monitor circuit is equipped with a detector 10 which measures the radioactivity of a body at respective parts and a timer 12 which outputs a signal at prescribed intervals of time. Further, a decision level setter 14 which sets the alarm level and stepwise alarm level for deciding the radioactivity contamination and a comparator 16 which compares the outputs of the detector 10 and setter 14 with each other are provided, and the output of the comparator 16 is supplied to a display device 18. This constitution divides a conventional measurement time into respective stages and a final alarm level is decided with stepwise alarm levels set in respective decision steps. Consequently, the decision is finished early from persons who are less contaminated, and the radioactivity contamination is measured speedily.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To enable the checking for the abnormality of sensitivity at a detector section, by arranging a detector section driving part to stop a detector section at a position away from a filter paper between blank and major measuring positions to allow the measurement of air alone free from a filter paper. CONSTITUTION:A rollable filter paper 14 is introduced 16 into a trapping section 10 to trap 14 floating dust contained in air passing through the trapping section 10 and the filter paper 14 is sent to a measuring position with a winding reel 18. A detector section 24 comprising a beta ray source 20 and a beta ray measuring device 22 is so arranged to be stoppable at a sensitivity checking position C away from a filter paper 1 while it moves from a blank measuring position B (measurement before dust collection) to a major measuring position M (measurement after dust collection). Then, a blank measured value is inputted into a memory 34 through a controller 32 while a sensitivity check measured value is inputted into a memory 36. Then, after the end of a sensitivity checking measurement, transmission B dose through the filter paper 14 collecting dust is measured 24 and inputted into a density computing unit 42 which calculates the ratio with the blank measured value and computes the density of a floating matter to record 40.
