    Abstract: An alkaline silicate suspension is reacted with an aqueous solution of a zinc salt at normal pressure and at temperatures between 50 degrees C and the boiling point of the suspension arising. It is alternatively reacted under hydrothermal conditions at the suspension boiling point up to 250 degrees C. Aqueous pH value is held at 4-9.5 throughout. The Zn/Si atom ratio is kept within 1.6-2.5. Preferred Features: From the product, a suitable zinc silicate, is formed. This has the hemimorphite structure as claimed, the composition Zn4Si2O7(OH)2-2yOy.xH2O, where x and y are between 0 and 1. To this end the product is roasted at temperatures of 70-600 degrees C. pH is maintained in the region 5.5-8 or 6-7.5. When reactin other salts, 0-20 mol% of the following group A, referred to zinc, is used with 0-20 mol% of the following group B, referred to silicon, (i.e. the elements in the hemimorphite structure described). Group A comprises: beryllium, magnesium, calcium, strontiu barium, manganese, iron, cobalt, nickel, copper, cadmium and mercury.     Abstract: Unsaturated ketones, comprising optionally substituted but-3-enyl and/or buta-2.3-dienyl methyl ketones, are prepared by: (a) reacting allyl alcohols and/or propargyl alcohols with isopropenyl ethers, with formation of ketals as by-product; (b) preparing isopropenyl ethers by catalytic gas phase reaction of ketals with propyne and/or allene; and (c) feeding the ketal from stage (a) into stage (b). The but-3-enyl methyl ketones of formula (Ia) and but-2,3-dienyl methyl ketones of formula (Ib) formed, allyl alcohols of formula (IIa) and/or propargyl alcohols of formula (IIb) and isopropenyl ethers (III) used as starting materials are ketals (IV). R1, R2, R3, R4, R5 = H or (cyclo)alkyl, (cyclo)alkenyl or ar(alk)yl (optionally containing O); or R1R2 = 5-6-membered ring; and R6 = 1-4C alkyl. (III) are prepared by the gas phase reaction of (IV) and propyne or allene at elevated temperature in the presence of a heterogeneous catalyst containing Zn or Cd plus Si and O.

    Abstract: The invention relates to a method for producing carbonyl compounds of formula (I), in which R is a hydrogen atom or alkyl radical with between 1 and 3 C atoms; R is a hydrogen atom or a radical of formula (II), in which R is a hydrogen atom or, together with R , an oxygen atom; R is the radical OR or, together with R , an oxygen atom; R is a hydrogen atom, an alkyl radical with between 1 and 8 C atoms or a cyclohexyl or cyclopentyl radical; and R is an alkyl radical with between 1 and 4 C atoms, a cyclohexyl or cyclopentyl radical or a radical of the formula -CH2-CHO or -CH2-CH2-O-CH2-CHO. According to said method, the carbonyl compounds are produced by gas phase oxidation of methanol or alcohols of formula (III), in which R and R have the meaning assigned above and R is a hydrogen atom or an OR radical, and R is a hydrogen atom, an alkyl radical with between 1 and 4 C atoms, a cyclohexyl or cyclopentyl radical or a radical of the formula -CH2-CH2-OH or -CH2-CH2-O-CH2-CH2-OH, with a gas containing oxygen, in the presence of catalysts containing copper and/or silver, and a phosphorus compound which is volatile under reaction conditions in such a quantity that the amount of phosphorus (calculated as P), in relation to the part by weight of alcohol used, is up to 20 ppm. Said method is characterized in that the quantity of phosphorus is added in at least two parts: a) the first part is added with the gaseous starting mixture before the catalyst bed, and b) at least one other part is added in the catalyst bed.
