Abstract: The invention relates to a method for carrying out the automated preparation and characterization of liquid multi-constituent systems comprised of at least two, preferably at least three, constituents. The inventive method involves the automated preparation of a mixture by combining at least two, preferably at least three, constituents in a vessel, whereby at least one constituent is dosed into the vessel in an automated manner. The method also involves the automated homogenization of the mixture followed by an automated measuring and evaluation. The device for implementing said method comprises at least one dosing station (5), a closing station (7), a homogenizing station (9), a measuring station (13) for determining formulation properties, and an evaluation unit.
