    Abstract: Disclosed is a method for jointly producing (i) formic acid (III); (ii) a carboxylic acid comprising at least two carbon atoms (II) and/or the derivatives thereof; and (iii) a carboxylic acid anhydride (VII). According to said method, (a) a formic acid ester (I) is transesterfied to formic acid (III) and the corresponding carboxylic acid ester (IV) by means of a carboxylic acid comprising at least two carbon atoms (II); (b) at least one portion of the carboxylic acid ester (IV) formed in step (a) is carbonylated in order to obtain the carboxylic acid anhydride (V); and (c) at least one portion of the carboxylic acid anhydride (V) formed in step (b) is further dehydrated by means of a carboxylic acid (VI) so as to form a carboxylic acid anhydride (VII) and the carboxylic acid (II).

    Abstract: Procedimiento para la producción de anhídrido del ácido maleico mediante la oxidación en fase gaseosa, catalítica heterogénea, de una corriente de hidrocarburos que contiene n-buteno con gases que contienen oxígeno en un reactor tubular con dos zonas de reacción consecutivas, de modo que la primera zona de reacción, del lado de los eductos, contiene al menos un catalizador, que es adecuado para la oxideshidrogenación de los n-butenos para dar 1, 3-butadieno y la segunda zona de reacción, del lado de los productos, contiene al menos un catalizador que es adecuado para la oxidación de 1, 3- butadieno para dar anhídrido del ácido maleico, caracterizado porque se utiliza un reactor tubular, que presenta al menos un circuito de fluido térmico en la región de la primera zona de reacción, del lado de los eductos, y al menos otro circuito de fluido térmico en la región de la segunda zona de reacción, del lado de los productos.
