    Abstract: The present invention relates to purification of raw piperidines of the general formula I, in which Re1 through Re4 represent alkyl containing 1 to 6 carbon atoms, or Re1 and Re2 and/or Re3 and Re4 form together the CHi2-chain containing 2 to 5 carbon atoms, wherein the purification process comprises a first step consisting in removal of compounds with high boiling point and water, if present, from raw piperidines by employing distillation; a second step consisting in addition of 0.01 to 5 percent by weight, based on the weight of the first step product, of a reducing agent; and a third step, in which piperidines are isolated by distillation.
