Abstract: Dispersion dyes of formula (I) are claimed (in which X is is Cl or Br; R1 is (m)ethyl and R2 is H, (m)ethyl or chloromethyl gp.). (I) are prepd by coupling diazotised (II) with a coupling agent (III). (I) give marine blue dyeings on linear polyester fabrics with excellent colour strength. Compared with prior art dyes, (I) have improved light fastness, and resistance to thermal fixing, moisture and reducing agents.
