Abstract: Preparation of profiled object having at least one leather layer and a protective layer made from a thermoplastic polymer bonded to the leather layer, the leather forming the leather layer is applied to a temperable profiling surface of a forming tool, some melt of the thermoplastic layer is applied to the leather at a first pressure, the forming tool is closed forming a negative mold, and the profiled part is finally formed at a higher pressure Preparation of profiled object having at least one leather layer and a protective layer made from a thermoplastic polymer bonded to the leather layer, the leather forming the leather layer is applied to a temperable profiling surface of a forming tool, part of a melt of the thermoplastic layer is applied to the leather at one pressure, the forming tool is closed forming a negative mold, and the profiled part is finally formed at a higher pressure, and the temperable profiled surface is tempered, at least during final forming, at a temperature low enough to ensure no damage to the leather layer. An Independent claim is included for a profiled body comprising a leather layer and a protective layer of thermoplastic polymer bonded to it, obtained as above.
