    Abstract: Flat laminated laser-optical recording material has an amorphous, thermally-modifiable, electroconductive recording layer, which contains dyestuff (I) and polymer (II) bound to one another through ionic bonds. (I) is anionic, pref. with carboxylate, phosphonate, O-phosphate, O-sulphate or sulphonate gps., esp. a phthalocyanine, porphin, tetraazaporphin, hemiporphyrazine or tetrathiolato metal complex deriv.. (II) is cationic, pref. with ammonium, imonium, sulphonium or phosphonium gps. and/or a positively charged bond system of several conjugated double bonds, esp. a pyrrole or thiophene homo- or copolymer or an aniline homopolymer.

    Abstract: An expandable polystyrene particle (I) containing blowing agent is coated with 0.001-0.5 wt.% of an imidazolidinone hydrophobic agent (II). Independent claims are included for: (i) a process for the production of (I) by adsorbing (II) onto fine particulate silicic acid and coating the expandable polystyrene particles or by addition of (II) to the preparation of expandable polystyrene particles by the polymerisation of styrene in an aqueous suspension; (ii) expanded polystyrene particles (III) coated with 0.001-0.5 wt.% (II); and (iii) a process for the production of (III) by foaming (I) or by coating expanded polystyrene particles with (II).
