    Abstract: Arylalkoxythiocoumarins of the formula in which R and R independently of one another represent hydrogen, C1- to C5-alkyl, trifluoromethyl, phenyl, halogen or together represent a C3-C5-alkylene chain; additionally X is oxygen or sulphur; R is C1- to C5- alkyl or halogen; n is an integer from 0 to 3; R is hydrogen or C1- to C4- alkyl and Ar is phenyl, which can be mono- to disubstituted by halogen, C1-C6-alkyl, C3-C7-cycloalkyl, C1-C6-alkoxy, nitro, cyano, trifluoromethyl or a combination of these substituents or is a heteroaromatic ring having one to three heteroatoms which independently of one another can be N, O or S, and which can be substituted by C1-C6-alkyl, C3-C7-cycloalkyl, C1-C6-alkoxy, C1-C4-alkoxy-substituted C1-C6-alkyl, 5-6-membered oxacycloalkyl, benzyl, C1-C5-alkoxycarbonyl, perfluoro-C1-C2-alkyl, phenyl or halogen, a process for their preparation and therapeutic agents containing them, in particular for the treatment of central nervous disorders.
