    Abstract: A moulding composition containing, based on the total amount of A to E, A: 40-90% by weight of a halogen-free polycarbonate A, B: 5-40% by weight of at least one halogen-free graft polymer B built up from, based on B, B1: 40-80% by weight of an elastomer B1 having a glass transition temperature of below 0 DEG C, B2: 20-60% by weight of a graft shell B2 comprising, based on B2, B21: 40-98% by weight of styrene, alpha -methylstyrene, ring-substituted styrene and/or C1-C8-alkyl (meth)acrylate, B22: 50-1% by weight of (meth)acrylonitrile and/or maleic anhydride, B23: 1-50% by weight of an organic phosphorus compound of the formula (I) in which R is H or CH3, R and R are each, independently of one another, halogen-free C1-C8-alkyl or halogen-free C6-C20-aryl which is optionally substituted by halogen-free substituents, X , X and X are O, S or NR (where R is hydrogen or halogen-free C1-C8-alkyl), and n is from 0 to 10, C: 5-40% by weight of a halogen-free, thermoplastic copolymer C comprising, based on C, C1: from 50 to 95% by weight of styrene, alpha -alkylstyrene, ring-substituted styrene and/or C1-C8-alkyl (meth)acrylate (C1), C2: from 4 to 50% by weight of (meth)acrylonitrile C1-C8-alkyl (meth)acrylate and/or maleic anhydride (C2), C3: from 1 to 46% by weight of a halogen-free phosphorus compound of the formula (I), D: up to 20% by weight of a halogen-free phosphorus compound of the formula (II) in which R , R and R are each, independently of one another, halogen-free C1-C8-alkyl or halogen-free, unsubstituted or substituted C6-C20-aryl E: up to 5% by weight of a tetrafluoroethylene polymer having a mean particle size of from 0.05 to 20 mu m.

    Abstract: Chlorine- and bromine-free, fire-resistant thermoplastic moulding materials (I) are claimed, contg. (A) 40-85.99 wt.% halogen-free polycarbonate, (B) 5-25 wt.% halogen-free graft copolymer, (C) 5-40 wt.% halogen-free thermoplastic copolymer, (D) 4-20 wt.% halogen-free phosphorus cpd(s). of formula (II), (E) 0.01-5 wt.% perfluoro- or polyfluoroalkane-sulphonic acid or -carboxylic acid deriv. of formula (F-(CF2CF2)x-(CH2CH2)y-X)mM (III) and (F) 0-50 wt.% fibrous and/or particulate fillers; (B) consists of (B1) 40-80 wt.% rubber polymer base with Tg below 0 deg.C grafted with (B2) 20-60 wt.% copolymer of (B2.1) 50-95 wt.% opt. substd. styrene of formula (IV) and/or MMA and (B2.2) 5-50 wt.% (meth)acrylonitrile, MMA and/or maleic anhydride; (C) is a copolymer of (C1) 50-95 wt.% monomer of type (B2.1) and (C2) 5-50 wt.% monomer of type (B2.2); (I) contain no PTFE. Also claimed is a process for the prodn. of (I), in which component (E) is used in the prodn. of (B) in emulsion, pref. by adding (E) to an aq. dispersion of (B), precipitating the mxit., removing water and drying, and then adding the other components. Amts. are 50-85 wt.% (A), 5-25 wt.% (B), 5-40 wt.% (C), 4-15 wt.% (D), 0.01-2 wt.% (E) and 0.05-30 wt.% (F); (B1) is a crosslinked butadiene polymer or a copolymer of (B1.1) 70-99.9 wt.% (1-8C alkyl) acrylate(s), (B1.2) 0-30 wt.% mono-unsatd. comonomer(s) and (B1.3) 0.1-5 wt.% polyfunctional crosslinking comonomer, in which case (B) consist of 30-70 wt.% coarse graft copolymer with d5o 200-700 nm and 70-30 wt.% fine graft copolymer with d5o 50-180 nm. USE/ADVANTAGE - (I) are useful for the prodn. of fibres, film and mouldings (claimed); also claimed are moulded prods. obtd. from (I). The invention provides halogen-free polycarbonate moulding materials with good fire resistance and high multiaxial impact strength at low temp.
