Abstract: An area of a first tool with a rib dividing it from a masked area is sprayed with a first color(5). After mask(3) removal the second area is sprayed another color(6). Polyurethane(PU) is cast over both colored areas to form a skin(7). The skin is demolded and located in a second tool(13) with a thin dividing plate(11) inserted into a groove dividing the colors. Applied vacuum holds the skin in position while an upper tool(10) carrying a supporting part(9) is closed over it and PU foam(14) introduced to form a backing layer. Independent claims are made for: a molding tool for manufacture of a multi-colored cast PU skin for use as an internal lining component in a vehicle and including a projection(2) for separating areas of different color and a mask(3) for covering of an area to be painted in a second color; b) a tool for manufacturing a multi-colored cast skin with a supporting layer(9) and foam(14) between them which has a thin dividing plate(11) for locating into a groove produced in the cast skin molding and vacuum for holding the skin onto the thin plate.
