    Abstract: Una pintura de látex que contiene: a) un aglutinante de látex de polímero carboxilado de múltiples etapas que puede ser obtenido por medio de la polimerización en emulsión acuosa de múltiples etapas de una composición de monómero M que consiste en - al menos un monómero no iónico M1, que es seleccionado entre ésteres de alquilo C1-C20 de ácido acrílico, ésteres de alquilo C1-C20 de ácido metacrílico y monómeros aromáticos de vinilo; - uno o más monómeros monoetilénicamente insaturados M2, que son seleccionados entre ácidos monocarboxílicos monoetilénicamente insaturados que tienen de 3 a 6 átomos de carbono y ácidos dicarboxílicos monoetilénicamente insaturados que tienen de 4 a 6 átomos de carbono, y - opcionalmente uno o más monómeros no iónicos M3, que son diferentes de los monómeros M1; en la que al menos una etapa, la cantidad relativa de monómeros M2 añadidos en esta etapa es de al menos 6% en peso, en base a la cantidad total de monómeros añadidos en dicha etapa, siendo la cantidad total de monómeros M2 de 0,05 a 5% en peso, en base a la cantidad total de la composición de monómeros M; b) un pigmento de dióxido de titanio; c) un dispersante polimérico PD que es seleccionado entre homo y copolímeros de monómeros M4, que son seleccionados entre ácidos monocarboxílicos monoetilénicamente insaturados que tienen de 3 a 6 átomos de carbono y ácidos dicarboxílicos monoetilénicamente insaturados que tienen de 4 a 6 átomos de carbono, en la que los monómeros M4 constituyen al menos el 95% en moles de los monómeros que forman el dispersante polimérico, y en la que el dispersante polimérico PD tiene un peso molecular promedio en número, determinado por medio de GPC, de como máximo 6000 Dalton; y d) un polímero espesante asociativo.

    Abstract: The present invention relates to latex paints, which contain a) a multistage carboxylated polymer latex binder obtainable by multistage aqueous emulsion polymerisation of a monomer composition M consisting of at least one non-ionic monomer M1, which is selected from C1-C20-alkyl esters of acrylic acid, C1-C20-alkylesters of methacrylic acid, and vinyl aromatic monomers; one or more monoethylenically unsaturated monomers M2, which are selected from monoethylenically unsaturated monocarboxylic acids having 3 to 6 carbon atoms and monoethylenically unsaturated dicarboxylic acids having 4 to 6 carbon atoms, and optionally one or more non-ionic monomers M3, which are different from monomers M1; where in at least one stage, the relative amount of monomers M2 added in this stage is at least 6 pcnt by weight, based on the total amount of monomers added in said stage, the total amount of monomers M2 being from 0.05 to 5 pcnt by weight, based on the total amount of the monomer composition M; b) a titanium dioxide pigment; c) a polymeric dispersant PD which is selected from homo and copolymers of monomers M4, which are selected from monoethylenically unsaturated monocarboxylic acids having 3 to 6 carbon atoms and monoethylenically unsaturated dicarboxylic acids having 4 to 6 carbon atoms, where the monomers M4 make up at least 85 pcnt of the monomers forming the polymeric dispersant; and d) an associative thickener polymer.

    Abstract: The present invention relates to a cationic polymer obtainable by polymerization of at least one cationic monomer, at least one crosslinker and optionally further monomers, such as nonionic monomers, associative monomers and/or chain transfer agents. The cationic polymer has an at least bimodal molecular weight distribution with at least one first peak (P1) and at least one second peak (P2), wherein the first peak has a rather low average sedimentation coefficient of = 10 Sved and the second peak has a rather high average sedimentation coefficient of = 10,000 Sved. The water-soluble polymer components of the cationic polymer are = 25% by weight related to the total amount of cationic polymer. The present invention further relates to a process for obtaining such a cationic polymer as well as to an inverse dispersion, a thickener or a deposition aid, comprising at least one of such cationic polymers.
