Abstract: Método para incrementar la resistencia a la mancha y la resistencia a la penetración de composiciones de recubrimiento acuosas, cuyo método comprende proporcionar una composición de recubrimiento que contiene por lo menos un pigmento, por lo menos un polímero que forma película en la forma de una dispersión de polímero acuosa y por lo menos un tensoactivo aniónico, en donde el tensoactivo aniónico comprende por lo menos 85% en peso, con base en el peso total del tensoactivo aniónico en la composición de recubrimiento, de por lo menos un tensoactivo aniónico S, que se selecciona de semi-ésteres de ácido sulfúrico o ácido fosfórico con un alcohol A, tal alcohol A lleva por lo menos un radical alquilo que tiene de 8 a 30 átomos de carbono o un radical fenilo sustituido por alquilo en donde el alquilo tiene de 4 a 30 átomos de carbono y tal alcohol A puede llevar un grupo oligo-éter de alquileno C2-C3 dado que el número de unidades de repetición en el grupo oligo-éter-alquileno C2-C3 es en su mayoría 15, o una sal de los mismos.
