Abstract:
Process for production of polymer powders containing vinylformamide units via free-radical polymerization of an aqueous solution of N-vinylformamide and, if appropriate, other monomers and drying of the polymers, where an aqueous monomer solution which comprises N-vinylformamide and comprises at least one polymerization initiator is converted into spray or droplets to give an aerosol at the top of a heatable tower reactor and then the aerosol or the droplets is/are polymerized in an inert gas atmosphere to give a fine-particle solid, and the fine-particle polymer is discharged from the reactor.
Abstract:
The invention relates to the spray condensation method for the production of dried resin in powder form made from melamine, urea or mixtures thereof and at least one aldehyde, whereby the morphology of the produced resin particles may be specifically influenced with regard to the particle parameters thereof.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a method for producing water-absorbent polymer particles with a higher permeability by polymerising droplets of a monomer solution, containing monomers with acid groups, in a gas phase surrounding the droplets. The monomer solution contains polyvalent cations and the polymer particles have an average diameter of at least 150 µm.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a method for producing polymers by dispersion polymerisation. According to said method, the monomer solution contains between 0.01 and 0.2 wt. %, in relation to the monomer, of at least one cross-linking agent. The invention also relates to the use of said polymers for thickening liquids and to a device for producing polymers by dispersion polymerisation.

Abstract:
The invention concerns a process for continuous production of styrene polymers by anionic spray polymerization characterized in that i) styrene and the initiator solution are mixed in a dynamic or static mixer and subsequently spray dispensed, ii) the droplets formed transition from the liquid monomeric state into the molten polymeric state during their free fall in the spray tower, iii) the melt droplets are collected as a melt at the foot of the tower, the melt having a monomer content of below 1%, preferably below 0.1% (
Abstract:
The invention relates to a method for producing water-absorbing polymer particles with a higher permeability by polymerising droplets of a monomer solution in a gas phase surrounding the droplets. The monomer solution contains at least 0.5 wt %, in relation to the monomer, of a cross-linking agent and polymerisation takes place in the droplets in the homogeneous phase and the polymer particles have an average diameter of at least 150 µm.
