Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a conductive member in which the increase of electric resistance by continuous energizing is small, and between the varying width of the electric resistance at the time of a low temperature and a low humidity and that at the time of a high temperature and a high humidity is small, and which is suitably used as a developing member and an electrifying member for electrophotographic processing. SOLUTION: The electric resistance with measuring voltage of 1000V under the conditions of temperature 15 deg.C and relative humidity 10% is equal to or below ten times of the electric resistance with measuring voltage 1000V under the conditions of temperature 32.5 deg.C and relative humidity 85%, and also the electric resistance with measuring voltage 1000V under the conditions of temperature 15 deg.C and relative humidity 10% after continuously energizing by electric power 10mW is made equal to or below three times of the electric resistance with measuring voltage 1000V under the same conditions as before continuous energizing.

Abstract: PURPOSE: To obtain a charging member for an electrophotographic charging device for electrification having specified electric resistance, low hardness, little permanent compressive strain and extremely low contamination property to a photoreceptor by incorporating urethane that is hardened with a liquid MDI into the base body of the charging member. CONSTITUTION: A base body containing urethane is used for the member for an electrostatic charging device. A formed body of urethane is also preferable. The foaming method is not limited and a method using a foaming agent or by mixing bubbles by mechanical stirring is preferably used. The hardening agent for urethane foams is a liquid MDI such as crude diphenylmethane diisocyanate, urethaneimine-modified diphenylisocyanate, carbodiimide-modified diphenylmethane diisocyanate urethane-medified diphenylmethane diisocyanate and/or hydrogenated material of these. Especially, crude diphenylmethane diisocyanate is preferably used, and crude diphenylmethane diisocyanate having >=3.0 of functional group number is more preferable.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To provide a transfer member having a prescribed electrical resistance, low hardness, small compression set and low staining to a photoreceptor body, etc., by containing an urethane obtained by curing a base material with a liquid MDT as a structural material. CONSTITUTION:Liquid MDI such as crude diphenylmethane diisocyanate (crude MDI), urethane imine modified diphenylmethane diisocyanate and/or these hydrogenerated material is used as hardener of urethane foam. The crude diphenylmethane diisocyanate (crude MDI) is particularly preferable in the liquid MDI from the view point of the staining to the photosensitive body and one having functional groups of >=3.0 is particularly preferable. The producing method of the urethane is not restricted. And electrical conductivity is given by adding the inorganic salt such as an electrical conductive filler such as carbon black and an electron acceptor capable of forming a charge transfer complex alone or in combination. As the carbon black to be used, acetylene black, channel black or the like is preferably used.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To make it possible to provide a sensor which is resistant to tempera ture change, suitable for surface pressure, gage pressure, hydrostatic pressure and absolute pressure and has a broad dynamic range by using polyaniline for a sensor. CONSTITUTION:Polyaniline with a thickness of 115 mum is pressed with a pressure of 200 kg/cm under the dry state and cut into the size of 1 mm in width and 6 mm in length. Gold is deposited on four points by evaporation for four- terminal method. Terminals are led out by using gold wires (b) and gold paste. Currents of 20 muA and 50 muA are made to flow through the terminals at both ends in order to remove the effect of thermal electromotive force. The potential difference between inner two terminals is measured. The resistance is obtained from the inclination of the potential difference. In this pressure sensor, conductivity is linearly changed by 250% for the pressure up to 7,000 kg f/cm at 680 omegaunder the normal pressure. The change is reversible. In this way, hydrostatic pressure is detected within a broad pressure range of 0 - 7,000 kg f/cm . The change in conductivity reaches 250%. This method can be applied to the detection of surface pressure and gage pressure.

CONSTITUTION:A developed layer 3 is laminated on a modified layer 2 on an electrode main body 1. As the developed layer 3, no special restriction is provided. For hydrophilic specimen liquid, gauze, blotting paper and polyamide based nonwoven fabric are suitable. For hydrophobic specimen liquid, polyolefin based nonwoven fabric made of polyethylene and the like and polypropylene based nonwoven fabric are suitable. With this electrode, quantitative property is excellent, and the amount of specimen to be measured can be reduced.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain an electrode characterized by excellent current dependency for enzyme concentration, stable performance for a long period and a low cost, by using a reduction type redox compound, which is insoluble in water and soluble in organic solvent, as an electron transfer material. CONSTITUTION:As an enzyme electrode, a reduction type redox compound such as phenothiazine, phenoxazine and the like, which is insoluble in water and soluble in organic solvent, is used as mediator. Electrons are made to trans fer between oxidation-reduction enzyme and a current collector with the media tor, and an electric signal is detected. Thus the substrate is determined. The stable redox compound in the reduced state is used as the mediator. A potential, which is higher than the oxidation-reduction potential of the redox compound, is applied, and electrolytic oxidation is performed. Therefore, the reaction speed of the entire system does not become a rate determining state owing to the reducing reaction of the mediator. Thus the electron acceptance reaction from the enzyme is efficiently performed, and the large current value is obtained. Furthermore, the reduction type redox compound can be used in a pattern, in which it is incorporated in a macromolecule compound such as poly tetrafluoroethylene.

CONSTITUTION:The electrodes are constructed with polyaniline and carbonaceous thin layer collector, and in this case it is desirable to use flexible carbonaceous material especially 0.1-100mum thick as the carbonaceous thinlayer collector. Because graphitic material can produce good polyaniline membrane for positive electrode when used to produce polyaniline by electrolytic polymerization, and in addition it has low electric resistance as collector for a cell, so graphitic material can be used very desirably as carbonaceous material. And it is desirable to adjust the thickness of polyaniline especially to 0.5-2mm.

Artificial carbon prepared by carbonizing a substance at a temperature of above 1,000 deg.C and less than 2,500 deg.C, or artificial graphite prepared by graphitizing a substace at 2,500 deg.C or more, or natural graphite is preferable as the carbon containing graphite structure.
