Abstract:
Polyaniline is highly conductive and less corrosive if it contains up to 7 mol % of the polyaniline in the benzeneammonium state and up to 25 mol % of the polyaniline in the quinonediimine state; both the amounts stated are based on the total molar amount of polyaniline.
Abstract:
Polyanilin having a thickness of from 0.3 to 5 mm which is suitable as an electronic material, in particular as an electrode material for cells or elements. Also described is a cell having a positive electrode, a negative electrode and an electolyte, where the polyaniline having a thickness of 0.3 to 5 mm is used to form at least one of the positive and negative electrodes, the cell having high energy density and good cell output which is stable for long periods.

Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To form a good image, even under serve environmental conditions and to maintain satisfactory image formation over a long time period, even if image formation is carried out repeatedly by using polyurethane as the principal constituent of each of a developer supporting roller, a developer supplying roller and a developer layer forming blade. SOLUTION: In this developing device, polyurethane is used as the principal constituent for each of a developer support roller, a developer supplying roller and a developer layer forming blade. The polyurethane of the developer carrier roller is a polyurethane elastic body, having 40-80 deg., Asker C hardness, the polyurethane of the developer supplying roller is polyurethane foam having 30-90 deg. Asker F hardness and the polyurethane of the developer layer forming blade is a polyurethane having 30-90 deg. JIS A hardness. The developer supporting roller is obtained, by forming an electrically conductive elastic layer 12 on the periphery of a shaft 11, having satisfactory electrical conductivity and further forming a coating layer 13 on the surface of the electrically conductive elastic layer 12. The electrically conductive elastic layer 12 comprises a polyurethane material provided with electrical conductivity by adding an electrically conductive agent.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrifying member, an electrifying device and an image forming device provided with this electrifying device utilizing a method, where a body to be electrified is electrified by having charges injected directly by being impressed with only DC voltage and where generation of image failures can be controlled. SOLUTION: In this electrifying member, the electrifying device and the image forming device provided with the electrifying member, the electrifying member is for electrifying the body to be electrified by the direct injection of the charge by being abutted to the body to be electrified and having only the DC voltage impressed between the body to be electrified, the member is constituted from a conductive foaming rubber body, its cell diameter is between 10 to 200 μm and the number of the cells are 100 to from 1200 pieces/25 mm.
Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a forming member of a developer layer which can stably improve and maintain the electrification amount of the developer by forming an electrification controlling layer consisting of a resin prepared by hardening a polyol with a melamine resin on the contact part of the surface of the forming member of a developer layer with the surface of a developer carrying body. SOLUTION: The forming member of a developer layer has an electrification controlling layer 2a to 2c consisting of a resin prepared by hardening a mixture of a polyol and a melamine resin on at least the contact part of the surface of the forming member of a developer layer with the surface of a developer carrying body. As for the forming member of a developer layer, for example, the following members are used. They are produced by forming the electrification controlling layer 2a on at least the surface of the supporting member 1a made of a metal or a resin to be in contact with a developer carrying body, or by forming an elastic layer 3b between the electrification controlling layer 2b and the supporting body 1b, or by forming an elastic layer 3c between the supporting member 1c and the electrification controlling layer 2c. Thereby, proper electrification of the developer can be stably maintained for a long time.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an electroconductive polymer member with suppressed resistance fluctuation and excellent durability, suitable as, e.g. an electrophotographic member, by using an electroconductive polymeric material prepared by incorporating a specific quaternary ammonium salt in a polymer compound containing a polar structural unit. SOLUTION: This polymer member is obtained by using an electroconductive polymer material which is prepared by incorporating a polymer compound containing a polar structural unit such as polyurethane with a quaternary ammonium salt having one or more amido linkage such as lauroyl iminopropyl dimethyl ethyl ammonium ethyl sulfate; wherein the acid group in the quaternary ammonium salt is pref. an organic acid group such as carboxylate or alkyl sulfate. It is preferable that the other objective image forming device is manufactured by mounting the above electroconductive polymeric member.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a new compound that is useful as an antistatic agent, an electroconductivity-imparting agent, an electrolyte for battery or condenser, a moisture absorbent or the like. SOLUTION: This compound is a quaternary ammonium salt of oxalic acid of formula I or formula II (R is a 1-30C alkyl, a 6-30C aryl; R to R are each a 1-6C alkyl), for example, bis(benzyltrimethylammonium) oxalate. The compound of the formula I or the formula II is obtained by reaction of oxalic acid with a quaternary ammonium hydroxide of formula III, for example, benzyltrimethylammonium hydroxide at a molar ratio of 1:2 in the case of the compound of the formula I or at a molar ratio of 1:1 in the case of the compound of the formula II in a solvent as acetone or the like.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an electrifying member excellent in heat resistance by using polyurethane contg. polyether polyol obtd. by adding ethylene oxide and propylene oxide to polyol such as glycerol at random. SOLUTION: This electrifying member has an elastic layer of polurethane foam or elastomer mixed an electrically conductive material. Polyether polyol obtd. by adding ethylene oxide and propylene oxide to poly tol such as glycerol at random is used as starting material for the polyurethane. The amt. of ethylene oxide contained in the polyether polyol is 3-50wt.%, preferably 5-20wt.%. In the case of 50wt.%, heat resistance deteriorates.
