    Abstract: PURPOSE: To prevent an undesired line from being closed by independently counting a required time for line connection and a time required for setting up a FAX control procedure. CONSTITUTION: Dial information from an operation section 4 is compared with dial data in a storage section 6 and a CPU 1 discriminates whether or not the preceding connection is successful based on received dial information and acquires the line when successful and sends the received dial information to the line as a selection signal via a line connection section 5. Then the time required for line connection and the time required for setting up a FAX control procedure (initial identification time) are counted independently. When the line connection is not finished even lapse of the line connection required time, the FAX control procedure is not transited but the line is made open.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain structure fully endurable to the pressure and enable easy enlargement in area by making a discharge substrate touch an upper plate of a container through a porous member. CONSTITUTION:Polyamido net of 10 mesh is piled as a porous member 9 on an electrode 12 of a substrate 2 and besides silicon rubber is sticked as an elastic material on the lower side of a substrate 1. The substrates laminated in this way are housed in a container 100 composed of an upper plate 13, a lower plate 14, and a side plate, and this container is filled with a xenon-helium mixed gas through a gas introduction port 8. An inner surface of the upper plate 13 disposed on the side of an observing surface of the container 100 is made to touch the substrate 2 through the porous member 9, and so the mixed gas enters the inside via throughholes. Therefore, distortion due to external pressure is absorbed into the elastic material 10, so that even a device of large metric size can be formed in structure fully endurable to force by atmospheric pressure.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain a light source for writing on regions of plural different wavelengths by dividing/disposing either one of the first and second groups of electrodes into plural combinations and connecting them commonly with the other group of electrodes. CONSTITUTION:A group of scanning electrodes 3 are divided/disposed into plural combinations and connected commonly with a group of signal electrodes 5. Namely, perpendiculars, which pass through respective cross points of both groups of electrodes and are at right angles to the group of scanning electrodes 3, are horizontally disposed 8 to 16 numbers/mm as a combination. The groups of scanning electrodes are formed in three combinations S1 to S3. Besides the group of signal electrodes 5 are connected commonly to these three combinations of the groups of the signal electrodes 5. Hence, a luminous part on regions of plural different wavelengths can be obtained and the device can be miniaturized.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To improve close-fitness of substrate to a dielectric layer so as to obtain uniform luminousness on a large area, by providing plural through-holes on one side of a substrate on which a discharge electrode is formed. CONSTITUTION:A substrate 1 having electrodes 2 disposed in a stripe shape, a dielectric layer 4 provided on the substrate 1 and a substrate 8 having stripe- shaped electrodes 3 disposed on the dielectric layer 4 is such a way as crossing the electrodes 2, are stored in a vessel sealed with a discharge gas so as to make electric discharge at selected cross point between the electrodes 2, 3. In this case, plural hole parts 12 passing from the surface to the bottom are provided in the substrate 1. Bubbles generated at the time when the dielectric layer 4 is stuck on the substrate 1, are discharged outward through the hole parts 12 so that the close-fitness of the substrate 1 to the dielectric layer 4 is improved, and the homogeneous dielectric layer is formed. With this arrangement, the partial dispersion in a discharge start voltage is remarkably reduced so that uniform luminousness can be obtained on a large area.

For example, two or more memory units MU having a plurality of the units U are oppositely disposed, and means SE for deflecting the beam emitted from the source E to be incident to the means D contained in the same unit U is provided.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To improve resolution, by making a scanning electrode group and a signal electrode one obliquely cross and performing equal-interval arrangement of vertical lines perpendicular to the scanning electrode group. CONSTITUTION:A group of scanning electrodes 3 are arranged in band shapes and in parallel on a substrate 2, and a group of signal electrodes 5 are arranged crossing obliquely to the electrode group 3 with an insulating layer in between. Intervals between respective crossing points are extended to facilitate discharge control by such composition of electrodes. A face plate is arranged in front of the substrate 2, and an opening part is formed at its end to be connected with a gas-introduced path equipped with a mercury reservoir 11. A space formed between the face plate and the substrate 2 is sealed with a discharge gas. An array-shaped light source with equivalently high resolution can be obtained by performing arrangement in which vertical lines that pass the respective crossing points between the electrode groups 3 and 5 and cross perpendicular to the electrode group 3 are orientated in definite density and equal intervals.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain a flat display panel of large displaying surface area, by disposing an electron beam modulator in a channel structure made between an electron beam generator and a fluorescent substance stimulator so that the surface of the stimulator which corresponds to the channel structure acts as an image element, and by disposing a plurality of such image elements in a two-dimensional manner. CONSTITUTION:A cathode 12, a grid 13, an anode 17 for accelerating an electron beam and a fluorescent substance film 15 for emitting light when being stimulated by the collision of the electron beam against the film are provided in each module 20 so that a channel structure corresponding to an image element is made. A partition wall 14 is a plate made of an electric insulator an having small holes 21 extending perpendicularly to a base plate 11 and a faceplate 16. The appropriate thickness of the partition wall 14 is 0.2 to 10mm. It is preferable that the wall 14 is in contact with the grid 13 and the anode 17. The wall 14 functions as a spacer supporting the channel structure.
