    Abstract: The invention relates to a connector for optical fibres. The connector between two fibres comprises a pressing assembly formed by three rolls inside a flexible casing and two cones partly engaged inside the pressing assembly, at its respective ends, and a means for actuating one of the cones in a linear movement to control the opening and closing of the pressing assembly on the ends of the fibres. The invention applies to the transmitting of data by a light beam.

    Abstract: A fibre optic connector is described which comprises an end-fitting for each fibre end, an alignment support, and pressing elements. The end-fitting comprises a capillary tube fitted with a shoulder at a defined distance from one of its ends. The terminal face of the fibre is kept coplanar and centralised in this tube. The alignment support has one or more transversal slots or grooves inside it which receive the ends of two fibres each equipped with an end-fitting. The shoulders of the two end-fittings are kept up against the extreme edges of the slot, thus ensuring a predetermined gap or spacing between the terminal faces of the two fibres. The pressing elements partially cross the connection support and emerge from the same side and perpendicular to the inside of each slot, thus ensuring that the two end fittings are against the opposite edge of the slot in which they are kept and also ensuring their axial alignment.
