    Abstract: PURPOSE:To execute smoothly switching to a stand-by device by holding and updating the information of line switching in the control information which is detected from a frame to be transmitted and received between an existing highway supervisory device and a communication device, by a stand-by highway supervisory device. CONSTITUTION:A stand-by highway supervisory device 2 is connected to an annular data transmission line 6. The supervisory device 2 O/E-converts 7 a data from the upstream, S/P-converts 9 it, brings it to buffering by registers 10, 11 and P/S-converts 12 it, brings it to a data conversion 15 through a changeover switch 13 and sends it out to the downstream. Also, an output of the data converting part 7 is outputted to a frame counter 8, and from in its counter, a processor 17 always supervisors a command through an inter-node communication control part 16, that which is related to line switching is extracted and written in a management table, and also updated. In this way, when the existing supervisory device becomes faulty, even if it is switched to the stand-by supervisory device immediately, the line connection is secured, and switching is executed smoothly.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To keep the photodetecting levels of each node within an optimum range respectively and at the same time to change easily the number, arrangement, etc. of nodes, by informing the corresponding photodetecting level to the corresponding node through a monitor node that received the information on the photodetecting levels from each node and controlling the level to be sent by the node. CONSTITUTION:Terminal nodes 2-4 can detect reception levels and also control the transmission levels. In case the level received by a node 3 is outside a prescribed range, the node 3 gives the information on the photodetecting level to a monitor node 1. The node 1 retrieves a node 2 sent to the node 3 through a table, etc. and delivers the information on the corresponding photodetecting level. Thus the node 2 transmits an optical signal according to the informed level. Thus the photodetecting levels received by nodes 2-4 or the node 1 can be kept within a prescribed range.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To use a packet of appropriate length, and to improve the use efficiency of a communication line and the service by selecting one of packets from a communication frame containing plural packets having plural data lengths, writing a transmitting data in this packet, and transmitting it. CONSTITUTION:When a transmission request from a subsystem 3 is detected by an interface controlling circuit 37, and informed to a controlling circuit 34, data is received from the subsystem 3 and accumulated in a buffer 39. When the data of length at a data part of the longest packet is accumulated in the buffer 39, or the transmitting data is ended, the control part 34 inspects each packet of a communication frame received successively in the buffer 35, and searches a packet in which a busy display bit is an idle display, and the length of a data part determined by a data length part 25 is not shorter than the transmitting data of the buffer 39. A short packet arrives first interms of time, therefore, the short packet is selected automatically and preferentially, and sent out to a communication line 4 through a repeater 30.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To execute easily and quickly a rise of a communicating system of a ring- shaped circuit by providing a means for sending out an intrinsic identification code to a communicating circuit, and a means for receiving the identification code from the communicating circuit, and entering a holding state when a receiving identification code and a sending-out identification code do not coincide with each other. CONSTITUTION:Circuit supervisory devices 26, 27 are devices of the same constitution, have a function for always sending out a signal frame of a prescribed format by a prescribed timing, and a function for supervising a circuit, etc., both of them become existing and stand-by devices, respectively, and only the existing device is operated actually so as to send out the signal frame to a transmitting circuit. An intrinsic identification code for displaying the own device is inserted into the signal frame sent out of the circuit supervisory devices 26, 27 and sent, and in case the identification code fed back through a ring-shaped circuit is different from the identification code sent out of the own device, the circuit supervisory device which has detected it is held as a stand-by device, and the device whose identification code has coincided continues a circuit supervisory operation as an existing device. In this way, control of an existing/stand-by conversion is executed automatically.

A common control part 10 of a station node 2 identifies the transmission line trouble or the transmission line operation due to it by recognition of abnormality of a select system due to reporting of an abnormality signal S2 from a receiving and transmitting part 7, reporting of the counted value from a frame counter part 9, or setting of the LNPB19 in the FH5 and detects that data communication is impossible, and the common control part 10 outputs a trouble occurrence signal 18 to each line control part 12.

Then the device 1a gives a command to a node 20k+1 to connect the active system transmission line 4 and the spare system transmission line 5 via the spare system transmission line 5.
