    Abstract: Cyclic polysulphonediallylammonium salts obtainable by a) copolymerisation of salts, preferably halides, of monomeric diallylammonium components of the formula (I) with sulphur dioxide or a compound which liberates sulphur dioxide, and b) anion exchange, where all or some of the anions, preferably the halide ions, of the diallylammonium components have been replaced by the anions A, where the diallylammonium components have each been cyclised to give a 5- or 6-membered ring and have been bonded to one another via one or more divalent radicals -SO2- to give polymers, where the polysulphonediallylammonium salts have a molecular weight of between 500 and 5,000,000, and where the ratio between the number of diallylammonium components and the number of divalent -SO2- radicals is from 1:0.01 to 1:100, and where A is in each case the stoichiometric anion equivalent of an inorganic anion, of an anion of a heteropolyacid or of a borate of the formula (II) or of an organic anion or of a disulphopyrrolidiniumbetaine of the formula (III), or A is a combination of the above anions, are used, individually or in combination, as charge-control agents in electrophotographic toners and developers employed for copying and duplicating originals and for printing electronically, magnetically or optically stored information or in colour proofing, and as charge-control agents in powders and powder paints (coatings).

    Abstract: Improved magenta colourant for multicolour electrophotographic recording consists of mix crystals of 95-60 pts. 2,9-dimethyl-quino(2,3-b) acrid-7,14-dione (C.I. Pigment Red 122) (I) and 5-40 pts. quino(2,3-b) acrid-7,14-dione (II) of the formulae (I) and (II). The charge capacity is -23.0 microC/g for (I) alone and -40.5 microC/g for mix crystals of (I) and (II) in 3:1 ratio. This value can be varied in the range from -31.1 and -40.5 microC/g by the temp. conditions used during prepn. and after-treatment of the mix crystals. The mix crystals also have the required nuance and transparency, whereas a simple mixt. of (I) and (II) does not.

Process for enhancing the electrostatic chargeability of powder coatings or powders intended for the surface-coating of solid objects, by homogeneously incorporating at least one salt-like, cationic compound of the formula (1) (1) in which R1, R2, R3 and R4, independently of one another, denote hydrogen atoms, straight-chain or branched alkyl groups having 1 to 30 carbon atoms, mononuclear or polynuclear cycloaliphatic radicals having 5 to 12 carbon atoms, oxethyl groups of the general formula -(CH2-CH2-O)n-R in which n denotes a number from 1 to 10 and R denotes a hydrogen atom, a (C1-C4)alkyl or acyl group, furthermore denote mononuclear or polynuclear aromatic radicals or araliphatic radicals, where the aliphatic, aromatic and araliphatic radicals may be substituted, and where the alkyl, cycloalkyl, aralkyl and aryl radicals for R1 to R4 may be substituted by halogen atoms, X denotes a phosphorus, arsenic or antimony atom, where, in the case where X denotes an arsenic or antimony atom, at least one of the radicals R1-R4 is not a hydrogen atom, and A(-) denotes the equivalent of an inorganic or organic anion, in an amount from about 0.01 to about 10 percent by weight into powder coatings or powders, the salt-like, cationic compounds of the formula (1) being dissolved or dispersed in the powder of coating system.
