    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To set hardware without installing a hardware setting program. SOLUTION: A server 12 stores a hardware setting program 15 which sets up the hardware of a computer 14 setting hardware, a hardware setting dynamic link module 16 which the program 15 uses when executing the program and a small program 17. A computer 14 accesses the server 12 through a network 11 and executes the small program 17 on the server 12. The program 17 transfers the hardware setting dynamic link module 16 to the computer 14 and then executes the hardware setting program 15 on a memory of the computer 14 while leaving the program 15 itself on the server 12 side.

    Abstract: A data processing system capable of specifying impeding factors that impede power savings is disclosed. The data processing system includes a central processing unit, an operation mode detection unit, and an impeding factors specifying unit. The central processing unit has multiple operation modes, and each of the operation modes has a different rate of power consumption. The operation mode detection unit detects an operation mode of the central processing unit. Based on a history of operation modes of the central processing unit that was detected by the operation mode detection unit, the impeding factors specifying unit specifies a device that considered as an impeding factor to power savings for the data processing system.
