Abstract: PURPOSE: To efficiently execute the function of texture mapping by providing plural plotting processors which are respectively connected to one of plural texture memory clusters and generate data to be displayed in a pixel through the use of a texture value ax against the pixel. CONSTITUTION: When a certain kind of display is executed in a display device 11, plotting is instructed to a graphic sub-system 3, a geometry calculating part 5 executes polygon-division, a coordinate on a screen at the vertex of a polygon is obtained and the coordinate of a texture image in the coordinate is calculated. When color is designated, moreover, the color information is also calculated and a luster calculating part 7 calculates the coordinate on the screen and the coordinate of the texture image at every pixel inside the polygon. A texture calculating part 9 generates the texture value against the pixel from the coordinate of the texture image and the magnifying/reducing rate LOD of the pixel.

Abstract: PURPOSE: To display a source image while extending it without any sense of incompatibility by performing screen interpolation without using any expensive line buffer, etc. CONSTITUTION: When extending a frame for the unit of a data stream composed of four pieces of piexl data vertically arranged as shown in (A) to a frame for the unit of a data stream composed of seven pieces of pixel data as shown in (B), for example, this frame is converted to frames for the unit of a data stream composed of seven pieces of pixel data interpolating the data of preceding or following picture elements at the interpolate positions (shown by symbols *) as shown in (C) and (D) and these frames are alternately displayed on a display device at prescribed time intervals (extremely short time intervals). Therefore, the extended image with no sense of incompatibility are seemed to be always displayed by the phenomenon afterglow for human sight.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce processing time to decode encoded data where a plurality of symbols are each replaced by a bit string.SOLUTION: Every time a bit length is input into a Huffman table decoding circuit, a counter 32 outputs a character code corresponding to the bit length as a Data In signal, a pointer table 33 outputs a number of symbols and a pointer corresponding to the bit length, and an addition circuit 34 adds them to output the result as an Insert Address signal. A shift memory circuit 31 with an insert function thus does not move character codes at addresses previous to an address by the Insert Address signal but stores the character code by the Data In signal at the address by the Insert Address signal and shifts back character codes at addresses at and subsequent to the address by the Insert Address signal.
