Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a superior information processing terminal which is increased in the reliability of a cable passing through the coupling part between a 1st and a 2nd housing and can mount a highly-functional keyboard on the 1st housing by providing the 1st housing which has a form factor determined by PCMCIA/JEIDA and a 2nd housing which is coupled rotatably with the 1st housing. SOLUTION: The information processing terminal 100 consists of the 1st housing 10 which is relatively thin and the 2nd housing 20 which is relatively thick and they are supported rotatably on a hinge. The 1st housing 10 has the form factor determined by PCMCIA/JEIDA and has a PCMCIA connector 11 for connection with an external computer system. The 2nd housing 20, on the other hand, contains almost all of components actualizing a PDA function and a PHS function and is fitted with a liquid crystal display 21, a speaker 22, and an antenna 23.

PURPOSE: To display a source image while extending it without any sense of incompatibility by performing screen interpolation without using any expensive line buffer, etc. CONSTITUTION: When extending a frame for the unit of a data stream composed of four pieces of piexl data vertically arranged as shown in (A) to a frame for the unit of a data stream composed of seven pieces of pixel data as shown in (B), for example, this frame is converted to frames for the unit of a data stream composed of seven pieces of pixel data interpolating the data of preceding or following picture elements at the interpolate positions (shown by symbols *) as shown in (C) and (D) and these frames are alternately displayed on a display device at prescribed time intervals (extremely short time intervals). Therefore, the extended image with no sense of incompatibility are seemed to be always displayed by the phenomenon afterglow for human sight.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a storage device and a system, a method, and a program for information processing which can shorten a formatting time and also shorten the recording time of data. SOLUTION: The storage device includes at least one storage medium 40, a storage means 32 of storing format data of a plurality of patterns corresponding to the patterns, a means 34 of receiving a sector address for specifying a sector of the storage medium 40 to be written to and a pattern identifier for specifying the pattern of format data to be written to the storage medium 40, and a means 36 of reading the format data of the pattern corresponding to the pattern identifier out of the storage means 32 and writing the read-out format data to the sector of the storage medium 40 corresponding to the received sector address. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an external storage device provided with a plurality of recording mediums and features of these recording mediums. SOLUTION: This external storage device 110 is provided with a semiconductor memory 200, a hard disk 210 having slower access speed than the semiconductor memory 200, a determination part 275 for determining whether write data can be stored in the semiconductor memory 200 or not when receiving write access for indicating writing of data for the external storage device 110, and an access processing part 277 which compresses write data and stores it in the semiconductor memory 200 when it is determined that the write data can be stored in the semiconductor memory 200 and stores the write data in the hard disk 210 when it is determined that the write data cannot be stored in the semiconductor memory 200. The external storage device 110 has a storage region having large storage capacity when compared with storage capacity of the semiconductor memory 200.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a system for dealing in personal information in a state wherein a general user as the original user (user of IPS) can participate while complying with various requests of companies and general users using the Internet. SOLUTION: A user 3 who receives connection service through an Internet service provider(ISP) 2 provides the ISP 2 with his or her personal information while specifying whether the information may be made open to the public by items such as the name, address, age, email address, etc. The ISP structures a database 6 for personal information on users and provides companies 4 with only personal information that users allow to be made open to the public for pay. Some of profits obtained from the companies 4 are returned to the users 3 by, for example, discounting the connection service charge.
Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To absorb the dispersion of load by sharing a buffer for data input (FIFO) among all pipelines. SOLUTION: A dispatch processor distributes the processing of successively inputted data sets to respective parallel processors 30-1, 30-2... corresponding to their attributes or the like. A data FIFO 22 temporarily holds the substances of data successively distributed out of the dispatch processor. An enable bit 23 shows whether effective data are stored in each step of data FIFO 22 or not. A priority encoder 24 executes the storage of data sets successively outputted from the dispatch processor and the distribution of storage places (pointers) to respective pipelines by controlling the data FIFO 22 and the enable bit 23. In this case, the data FIFO 22 for inputting/outputting the data sets is shared among all the pipelines.

PURPOSE: To display a halftone without generating any flicker or moving phenomenon. CONSTITUTION: In a unit area 32 of a 1st frame F3n of LCD, picture elements containing the colors (surrounded by circles) of different lightness in the order of RGB in column direction are displayed in the order of RGB in row direction and in the unit area 32 of 2nd and 3rd frames F3n+1 and F3n+2 , the picture elements are displayed according to this order in the row and column directions as well. Concerning the respective picture elements in the unit area 32, the pictures containing the colors of different lightness in the order of RGB are displayed in the order of the 1st, 2nd and 3rd frames F3n , F3n+1 and F3n+2 . Thus, the lightness of only one of three colors RGB is changed for each picture element, the lightness is equally changed inside the unit area, the respective colors are distributed to the different positions of respective frames, and the colors of different lightness are equally arranged without concentrating the picture elements of different lightness into one frame.

PURPOSE: To provide an image display controlling apparatus of which a band width is increased and which is usable for a graphic engine or a CPU without increasing the electric power consumption and manufacturing cost even in the case of using a conventional frame memory regarding an image display controlling method and an image display controlling apparatus to send display data form a processing apparatus to the display apparatus. CONSTITUTION: This image display controlling apparatus is one to house image data in a frame memory 18 from a CPU 4, send the image data to a display apparatus 30 from the frame memory 18, and control the image data. Whether the image data housed in number N address of the frame memory 18 and the image data housed in number N-1 address are homologous or not is compared by an image data comparing means 20. In the case two image data are homologous, instead of the image data housed in the number N address, the image data housed in the number N-1 address is sent out to a display apparatus 30.

SOLUTION: The respective server machines 11 to 14 are provided with management data storage parts 60 to 61 to store the management data of processings to be executed in the server machines, batteries 70 to 73 to supply power to interface parts 50 to 53 to electrically and mechanically connect at least the management data storage parts 60 to 61 and the server machines with a communication line 110 when a fault occurs in the server machines, the interface parts 50 to 53 to receive power supply by a battery in the first server machine transfer the management data read from the management data storage parts 60 to 61 to a second server machine and continues service to a client based on the management data received by the second server machine when the fault occurs in a first server machine among the respective server machines.
