    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain an acaricide having reduced phytotoxicity, having effects on acarids having chemical resistance, comprising a quaternary ammonium salt containing an anionic residue of a sulfonic acid compound or a sulfuric ester compound as a pair ion, as an essential component. CONSTITUTION:An acaricide comprising a compound shown by formula I (at least one of R1-R3 is 8-30C alkyl or alkenyl or the rest are CH3, C2H5, benzyl or group shown by formula II; R4 is CH3 or C2H5; X is anionic residue of an acid containing a hydrophobic group with >=10 total carbons) as an essential component. The acaricide has strong effects on acarids having chemical resistance, excellent durability and extremely reduces occurrence of phytotoxicity to fruits, vegetables, etc. The acaricide is applied so as to contain 0.01-60wt.% active ingredient. Removal by flow caused by rain shower especially from leaf surface is extremely improved.

The compound of formula I (e.g. R is H or an alkoxy) can be produced by producing an amino alcohol derivative from glycidyl ether and an amine, converting into an amide derivative, epoxidizing the amide derivative and finally hydrating the product. The aging of skin can be prevented and the skin-protecting and keeping performance can be improved by the combined use of the new amide derivative of formula I to formula IV with a polyol.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To prevent deterioration in quality and commercial value of perishable food by a method wherein after a cold insulating sheet comprising a water absorbing material is made hold 20 to 80% of maximum amount of water absorption of the water absorbing material, the cold insulating sheet with the held water frozen is stored together with perishable food in a package. CONSTITUTION:A cold insulating sheet having drip absorbing property made of a water absorbing material 2 integrated with a porous film 2 is used, while water is held in the water absorbing material 2 and the cold insulating sheet having drip absorbing property with the held water frozen is stored together with perishable food in a food package. Thus the cold insulating sheet with water held in the water absorbing material 2 frozen is stored in an air-tight sealing package together with perishable food while inactive gas exists in the sealed package thereby improving effect for maintaining freshness of the food.
