Abstract: PURPOSE: To obtain a skin cosmetic, containing ceramides or pseudoceramides having a specific structure, a dicarboxylic acid and a salt thereof, excellent in humectant ability, having a low irritant feeling and useful for the facial skin. CONSTITUTION: This skin cosmetic contains (A) ceramides or pseudoceramides of formula I or II (R and R are each a 9-39C straight-chain or branched chain saturated or unsaturated hydrocarbon group which may be substituted with one or more hydroxyl groups; R and R are each H, a phosphate residue, a sulfate residue or a saccharide residue), (B) a dicarboxylic acid of the formula HOOC-X-COOH (X is a 1-6C bivalent hydrocarbon group) (preferably malonic acid, succinic acid, fumaric acid, etc.) and (C) a salt of the dicarboxylic acid of the formula HOOC-X-COOH. Furthermore, 0.01-20wt.% ingredient (A) is preferably contained and the total amount of the contained ingredients (B) and (C) as acids is preferably 0.01-20wt.%. The blending molar ratio of the ingredient (B) to the salt of the ingredient (C) is preferably (1/9) to (9/1).

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a preparation for external use for the skin excellent in moisture retaining effect, capable of strongly adhering to the skin and excellent in water resistance and durable effects by combining an acidic heteropolysaccharide with a sol of a specific metal. SOLUTION: In this preparation for external use for the skin, both (A) an acidic heteropolysaccharide and (B) sol of a superfine metal oxide are used. As the acidic heteropolysaccharide, the one derived from a callus of a plant belonging to the genus Polianthes L. or from a callus of Polianthes tuberosa L. is preferable. As the sol of the superfine metal oxide, an aqueous sol in which the superfine metal oxide particles having 0.005-0.1μm average size are dispersed is preferable. The aqueous sol preferably contains 5-30wt.% dispersed superfine metal oxide particles. As the metal oxide, titanium oxide or silicon oxide is preferable. The weight ratio of the component A to an active concentration B' of the metal oxide in the sol is preferably A/B' of (0.2/0.001)-(0.2/4). This preparation for external use for the skin is good in feeling in use.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable to obtain large massage effect and larger beauty effect to be realized by massaging along the direction of corium strand. SOLUTION: When an upper arm part a is massaged, since the direction of corium fiber in the upper arm part a is around the arm as shown by arrow marks, a part from the elbow to the shoulder is massaged repeatedly rubbing in the direction around so as to rub up from the elbow to the shoulder. The femoral region c is massaged by repeatedly rubbing in the direction around the leg so as to rub up from the knee to the crotch for massaging. The crus part d is massaged by repeatedly rubbing a part from the ankle to the knee part in the direction around the leg. The abdominal part e is massaged by repeatedly rubbing in the direction around the abdominal part so as to rub up from the lower abdominal part to the pit of the stomach. The hip part is massaged by repeatedly rubbing in the direction around the waist so as to rub up from the lower hip part to the upper hip part.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a skin roughness-preventing agent comprising two kinds of such specific polymers as giving a blend film having a specific light transmittance, especially effective for preventing and improving skin roughness accompanied by inflammation, not irritating skin, and high in safety. SOLUTION: This agent for preventing the roughness of skin comprises (A) a polymer high in skin adhesivity and (B) a polymer having a moisture permeation coefficient of cm (STP) cm/cm .sec.cmHg. A 100μm thick film comprising the blend of the polymers (A) and (B) has a light transmittance of >=50% at 530nm. The components (A) and (B) are compounded in a weight ratio of 10/90 to 90/10. The component (A) includes acidic heterogeneous polysaccharides, and the polymer (B) includes polyvinyl alcohol. The skin roughness-preventing agent is high in adhesivity to the skin, and can shut irritation from the outsides, reduce the evaporation of water from skin surface and inhibit the advance of cornification.
