    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain toners which have excellent offset resistance and high performance by incorporating specific modified polysiloxane into these toners. SOLUTION: The modified polysiloxane expressed by formula is incorporated into the toners. In the formula, R to R denote 1 to 6C alkyl groups, phenyl groups or naphthyl groups which may be the same or different; R , R denote average 16 to 600C straight chain or branched chain satd. hydrocarbon groups which may be the same or different; (n), (m) denote an integer of >=0. The method of incorporating the modified polysiloxane into the toners merely involves mixing of the modified polysiloxane together with other additives with a binder resin or the monomer of the resin. For example, polyolefin, fatty acid metal salt, etc., may be used at need in combination with the modified polysiloxane in order to improve offset resistance.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain a hair cosmetic capable imparting the hair with smoothness, flexibility, favorable dampishness and humectancy, free from oiliness or stickiness, and causing hair squeakiness when the hair is wet. CONSTITUTION:This hair cosmetic contains a cyclic silicone compound of formula I (R -R each is methyl or phenyl; R is the monovalent residue of an aliphatic polycyclic compound; A is a divalent linking group; (m) is 0-15; (n) is 1-15; where, (m+n) is >=3). In this compound, the aliphatic polycyclic compound in R is e.g. a steroid compound (e.g. cholesterol), a diterpene compound (e.g. tetrahydroabietic acid); while the divalent linking group in A is pref. a group of formula II ((a) is 2-20), its carboxyl side being bound to R . This hair cosmetic also contains a cationic surfactant (pref. a quaternary ammonium salt) and a lubricant. It is preferable that this hair cosmetic contain 0.1-20wt.% of the cyclic silicone compound, 0.5-5wt.% of the quaternary ammonium salt, and 1.0-10wt.% of the lubricant.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain the subject polymer having a long-chain hydrocarbon group at molecular ends and having an aromatic hydrocarbon groups at siloxane side chains, having high refractive index, excellent in gloss, heat resistance, lubricity, etc., and useful as a material for cosmetics, a lubricant and a heating medium. CONSTITUTION:This polymer is expressed by formula I [R1 and R2 are each a 1-6C alkyl or a 6-10C aromatic hydrocarbon group and one or more substituent groups in the molecule are 1-6C aromatic hydrocarbon groups; R3 is an average 16-600C straight or branched saturated hydrocarbon group; (p) is 0-3000)]. This polymer of formula I is obtained by subjecting ethylene to anion polymerization using 1-6C alkyl Li.tert-diamine-based catalyst to afford living PE, reacting the living PE with a compound of formula II [(q) is 3-7] to afford a polymer of formula III [A is H or Li; R4 is a 1-6C alkyl; (n) is 1-300; (s) is 1-7] and subjecting the polymer of formula III to equilibration polymerization with a compound of formula II and a compound of formula IV [(r)>=1] in the presence of a base catalyst and neutralizing and dehydrating the resultant product.

An oligomer expressed by formula III [(h) is 0-3], etc., is cited as the perfluoroalkylpropylene oxide oligomer expressed by the Rf The oily solid material is especially useful as a cosmetic.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To well reproducibly obtain a polysiloxane having an alkyl group at the chain end and fluorine-contg. organic group in the side chain, by polymerizing ethylene, thereafter reacting therewith a cyclic siloxane or the like, moreover polymerizing such a polysiloxane or the like as having a fluorine-contg. organic group in the presence of a catalyst. SOLUTION: This polysiloxane is expressed by the formula. In the formula, RF is an organic group contg. at least one fluorine atom; R is a 16-600C alkyl group; R s are same or different, each a 1-30C hydrocarbyl group; (a) is on average 1 or more; and (b) is on average 0 or more. The polysioxane of the formula can be prepared through the following two steps. (1) the 1st step comprises polymerizing ethylene by using an initiator consisting mainly of an organolithium, then reacting therewith one or more kinds of a cyclic polysiloxane, a linear polysiloxane having leaving groups at the both ends, and a silane having two leaving groups, thus giving a modified polyethylene having a molecular end of a silanol group or the like. (2) the 2nd step comprises polymerizing the modified polyethylene and the polysiloxanes or the like as used in the 1st step (at least one kind of which has a fluorine-contg. organic group) in the presence of a catalyst.
