    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a catalyst composition for manufacturing a polyurethane which is highly reactive, remaining liquid without solidifying at a low temperature and excellent in handling properties by effectively utilizing 1,2- dimethylimidazole having a high catalytic activity. SOLUTION: The catalyst composition for manufacturing a polyurethane comprises an N-substituted imidazole compound solid at 10 deg.C, a compound represented by the formula: R1N(CH2CHR2OH)2, wherein R1 is a 1-18C linear or branched alkyl or alkenyl group; and R2 is a hydrogen atom or a methyl group, and a compound represented by the formula: HO-R-OH, wherein R is -CHR3CHR4-(OCHR3CHR4)n-, wherein R3 and R4 are each independently a hydrogen atom or a methyl group; and n is an integer of 0-2.

    Abstract: PURPOSE: To obtain a composition having little troubles of rapid heat generation during polyurethane production and between-lot variation, free from gelation and yellowing and capable of producing a polyurethane having a stable quality by compounding a polyester polyol with an acidic phosphoric acid ester. CONSTITUTION: This composition is obtained by compounding (A) a polyester polyol with (B) an acidic phosphoric acid ester such as a compound of the formula (R1 , R2 are each a 1-30C alkyl, a 3-30C cycloalkyl, a 6-18C aryl, a 7-30C alkylaryl, a 7-30C aralkyl or H; R1 and R2 can not be H at the same time) and optionally further (C) a compound of the formula Ti(OR3 )4 (R3 is a 1-10C alkyl) or a titanium compound soluble in the component A and derived from the compound. Preferably, the component B and the component C are compounded in amounts of 0.0005-0.05wt.% and 0.001-0.05wt.% on the basis of the component A, respectively.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To provide the green sand compsn. for production of castings by which a green sand mold having excellent surface stability is obtd. even with the small volume of water. CONSTITUTION:This green sand compsn. contains a surfactant and polyhydric alcohol as essential components. any of anionic surfactants, noionic surfactants, cationic surfactants and amphoteric surfactants is usable for this surfactant. Glycerine, ethylene glycol, diglycerine, etc., are representatively used as the polyhydric alcohol. Bentonite is generally used as the clay in the green sand compsn. for production of castings. Adhesives, such as carbides including coal powder, etc., and starch may be incorporated as arbitrary components into the green sand compsn. for production of castings. This green sand compsn. for production of castings is formed by adding clay, the surfactant and the polyhydric alcohol to sand. The surfactant and the polyhydric alcohol are preferably added simultaneously in the form of an aq. soln. to the sand.
