    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the density of printed characters on a substrate by using an ink jet recording ink which comprises a pigemnt, a dispersant, a water-soluble medium, and monodispersive fine particles, the particle sizes and compounding ratio of the particles being selected so that the ratio of the area covered with the particles to the printed area is a specified value or higher. SOLUTION: The particle sizes and compounding ratio of the fine particles are selected so that the ratio of the area covered with the particles to the printed area is 50% or higher, still pref. 80% or highr, esp. pref. 90% or higher. Pref., the particles are inorg. particles, pref. silicon oxide such as colloidal silica, having particle sizes of 1-50 nm and are compounded in an amt. of 1-10 wt.% of the ink. Ths use of polymer particles, pref. melamine resin particles, having particle sizes of 100-300 nm and compounded in an amt. of 1-20 wt.% of the ink is also pref.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an ink excellent in long-term storage stability and environmental stability by forming an ink comprising a water-insoluble or difficultly water-soluble colorant, a dispersant and a water-soluble medium, wherein the dispersant is a polymeric dispersant obtained by condensing a sulfonate of aromatic compound mixture containing alkyl naphthalenes and phenolic compounds with formalin and neutralizing the condensate. SOLUTION: The aromatic compound mixture contains aromatic compounds represented by formula I (where R1 and R2 are each H or a 1-5C alkyl) and formula II (wherein R3 and R4 are each H or a 1-5C alkyl). Compounds of formula I are desirably dimethylnaphthalene, methylnaphthalene and butylnaphthalene. Compounds of formula II are particularly desirably cresol, xylenol, phenol and ethylphenol. The use ratio of the compound of formula I to the compound of formula II is desirably 1/3 to 1/15 by weight.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an aqueous pigment ink which affords improved fixative ability of a pigment for a material to be recorded thereon, particularly for an OHP sheet and the like, by using a polymer dispersant and a polyethyleneimine having a weight average molecular weight within a specific range in combination. SOLUTION: This aqueous pigment ink comprises a pigment, a polymer dispersant, a polyethyleneimine having a weight average molecular weight of 800 to 300,000 a water-soluble solvent and water. As the polyethyleneimine, a polyethyleneimine which is grafted, as a side chain, onto a main chain comprised of an acrylic chain, a polyethyleneimine which has been subjected to hydroxylation, an amphoterically ionized polyethyleneimine and the like are preferably used. It is preferred that a polyethyleneimine is compounded in the aqueous pigment ink in an amount of 0.01 to 10wt.%. The polymer dispersant is preferably a copolymer prepared from (meth) acrylic acid derivatives. This aqueous pigment ink is suitable especially for use in ink-jet recording.

SOLUTION: This water-based pigment ink excellent in pigment dispersion stability over a long period and under high-temperature storage, thus suitable for ink jet printing use, is obtained by blending water with (A) a pigment such as carbon black, (B) a high molecular dispersant comprising a copolymer from an alkylene oxide-added (meth)acrylic acid derivative of formula I (R1 and R2 are each H or a lower alkyl: (m1 ) is an integer of 0-2; AO is a 2-3C oxyalkylene group; (n) is an integer of 1-300; X is H or a lower alkyl) and a monomer of formula II [R3 to R5 are each H, a lower alkyl or of the formula (CH2 )m2 COOHM2 (M2 is H, an alkali metal, alkaline earth metal, ammonium, etc.; (m2 ) is an integer of 0-2); M1 is the same kinds as M2 ], and (C) an anionic surfactant such as an alkylbenzenesulfonate.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a water-base pigmented ink which does not cause plugging of the head of an ink jet printer and has improved storage stability, water resistance and light resistance by mixing a pigment with a specified dispersion, water and a water-soluble solvent. SOLUTION: A dispersant comprising a copolymer prepared by copolymerizing a monomer represented by formula I (wherein R1 and R2 are each H or methyl; m1 is 0-2; AO is a 2 or 3 oxyalkylene; (n) is 1-300; and X is H or a 1-3 C alkyl) with a monomer represented by formula II or III (wherein R3 to R5 are each H, methyl or (CH2 )m2 COOM2 ; R is H or methyl; M1 , M2 and Y are each H, an alkali (alkaline earth) metal, an (alkyl)ammonium or a substituted alkylammonium; and m2 is 0-2) in a molar ratio of 0.1/100 to 100/100 is obtained. One (1) to 20wt.% pigment is mixed with 0.3-30wt.% above dispersant, 1-30wt.% water-soluble solvent, 40-97.6wt.% water in a weight ratio of the pigment to the dispersant of 1/10 to 10/1, and coarse particles having a particle diameter of 2,000nm or above are removed from the obtained mixture to obtain a water- base pigmented ink.

    Abstract: PURPOSE: To make the adhesion of a lubricating agent uniform by forming a nozzle means of an ultrasonic spraying device for spraying the lubricating agent toward a magnetic layer of a material to be evaporated running in a slit through which a drop-like lubricating agent passes. CONSTITUTION: A material 6 to be evaporated comprising a synthetic resin tape having a magnetic layer formed on the side 6a of the surface thereof runs to a winding roll 14 from a feed roll 13 in a vacuum container 1 via a heating roll 8. An ultrasonic spraying device 3 comprises an ultrasonic vibration system 4 having a vibrator and a nozzle means 5 to be excited from the vibrator through a horn. A slit-shaped opening with the length thereof equal to the width of the material 6 to be evaporated is provided at the tip part facing the material 6 to be evaporated of the nozzle means 5. A lubricating agent supplying device 11 supplies a lubricating agent via an internal cavity of the nozzle means 5 to be sprayed to the material 6 to be evaporated at the slit- shaped opening. Here, as the width of clearance of the slit can be set accurately from the minimum 1μm, the spraying across the width of the material 6 to be evaporated is uniform while the thickness thereof can be controlled precisely.

CONSTITUTION: This microwave plasma device comprises a microwave source 13, a waveguide 14 to which microwaves are transmitted, a plasma excitation chamber 11 connected to the waveguide 14, a means 12 for introducing gas into the plasma excitation chamber 11, and a window 3 located between the waveguide 14 and the plasma excitation chamber 11. The window 3 projects along or i n the direction of introduction of the microwaves, and has a projecting edge that serves as the apex of a pyramid or the side of a prism.
