    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a scouring agent composition for fibers, excellent in permeability, compatibility and low-foaming property and capable of imparting the treated fibers with improved rewettability even in a scouring treatment under high alkali conditions by compounding a specific nonionic surfactant, a specific phosphoric acid ester of a polyalkoxy alkyl ether, etc. SOLUTION: This scouring agent is composed of (A) a nonionic surfactant of formula I [R1 is an 8-18C alkyl, an 8-18C alkenyl, an 8-22C alkylaryl, etc.; AO is a 2-3C oxyalkylene; (n)=3-30] singly or in a combination of two or more kinds and (B) a phosphoric acid ester (salt) such as a sesquiphosphoric acid ester (salt) of a polyalkoxy alkyl ether of formula II [R2 is an 8-18C secondary alcohol residue or a 12-24C Guerbet alcohol residue; (m)=1-10]. Further, a compounding ratio of the component A and the component B, components A/B, is preferably 70/30 to 99/1 by weight.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To enable sizing capable of uniformly, rapidly and completely adsorbing a size on yarn in a state of a cheese, etc., by using a water-dispersible cationic size together with a lubricant composition containing a specific anionic surfactant as an essential component. CONSTITUTION:A water-dispersible cationic size is used together with a lubricant composition containing a >=12C anionic surfactant as an essential component and, as necessary, further a wax (e.g. montan wax or Japan wax) added thereto to enable uniform and rapid sizing of yarn in a state of a cheese or beam regardless of treating history of the yarn before the sizing. The resultant sized yarn is capable of exhibiting sufficient cohesiveness in weaving steps. The aforementioned cationic size is obtained by copolymerizing a vinyl monomer with an unsaturated carboxylic acid in the presence of cationic starch, etc. Anionic surfactants selected from fatty acid soaps, alpha-olefinsulfonic acids, etc., can be cited as the anionic surfactant.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a deodorizing fiber excellent in the immediacy and durability of deodorizing effect by allowing a deodorizing material comprising an amino group-containing polymer and an acid group- or its salt-containing polymer to exist continuously or discontinuously on a fiber surface. SOLUTION: Particles or a water and/or organic solvent dispersion of a deodorizing base material, which is obtained by mixing a component A comprising an amino group-containing polymer such as chitosan and a component B comprising a polymerizable monomer having an acid group and/or its salt such as a (meth)acrylic acid (salt) at a weight ratio A/B of (0.5/99.5) to (99.5/0.5), preferably (20/80) to (25/75), is imparted to a fiber such as cotton, and then the deodorizing material is polymerized to allow to exist continuously or discontinuously in a shape of particles or a coating film on the surface of the fiber in an amount of 0.01-10.0 wt.% based on the fiber to obtain the objective deodorizing fiber.
