Abstract:
Stereoscopic video is encoded and decoded by using the MAC defined by the existing MPEG-4 standard. The stereoscopic video is divided into one image as a single video object, and another image as auxiliary information for the image established as the video object. The auxiliary information includes a horizontal disparity map, a vertical disparity map, luminance residual texture, and chrominance residual texture, which are respectively allocated to auxiliary components of the MAC according to importance and complexity of the images, encoded, and then output as a single encoding stream.

Disclosed are a method for controlling a bit rate in a digital audio broadcasting (DAB) system, an apparatus and a method for converting a media stream by using the same. The media stream conversion method includes the steps of: determining a data amount of an inputted moving picture transmission stream and calculating a stream length (STL) value; calculating a data amount to be outer coded for every interval of DAB transmission frames based on the STL vale; outer coding a data with a multiple size of a packet unit for every interval of the DAB transmission frames as maintaining the data amount according to the STL value on average; and reading the outer coded moving picture transmission stream as much as the data amount according to the STL value for every interval of the DAB transmission frames to configure the DAB transmission frames and outputting the moving picture transmission stream.

The present invention relates to an apparatus and method for transmitting/receiving electronics program guide (EPG) information in voice. The voice EPG information transmitting/receiving apparatus reduces the burden loaded on a receiver by creating a voice EPG document, which is a content, in advance in a broadcasting station system and provides the EPG information to users in a familiar voice or in both voice and graphics.

Provided is a DMB/mobile telecommunication integrated service terminal and a method for connecting a DMB network and a mobile telecommunication network, which can provide a DMB broadcasting service in a mobile environment and a two-way data service through a mobile telecommunication network simultaneously by integrating a mobile telecommunication terminal and a mobile DMB receiving terminal and physically/logically connecting them into one entity. The DMB/mobile telecommunication integrated service terminal for connecting a network between DMB and a mobile telecommunication includes a DMB broadcasting processing block for extracting video/audio and synchronized data, transmitting the video/audio to corresponding application program for restoration, and transmitting the DMB data to a DMB/mobile telecommunication network connecting block, but generating network linkage data by integrating mobile data with the DMB data in case that the mobile data are transmitted from a mobile telecommunication accessing block; a DMB/mobile telecommunication network connecting block for controlling the DMB broadcasting processing block, an application program or a mobile telecommunication accessing block to receive a DMB broadcasting or provide a mobile telecommunication service, requesting additional mobile data to a return channel server through the mobile telecommunication accessing block upon a user request during DMB broadcasting reception, and processing the network linkage data generated in the DMB broadcasting processing block; and the mobile telecommunication accessing block for performing a mobile telecommunication network accessing process receiving the mobile data from the return channel server, and transmitting the mobile data to the DMB broadcasting processing block or the DMB/mobile telecommunication network connecting block under control of the DMB/mobile telecommunication network connecting block. Disclosed are an apparatus and a method for processing multimodal data broadcasting and a system and a method for receiving multimodal data broadcasting. The multimodal data broadcasting processing apparatus includes: at least one interfacing unit for receiving contents transferred from a data broadcasting server and storing the contents; a multimodal browsing unit for parsing the stored contents, classifying the contents and interpreting the classified contents to generate instructions and data necessary for running a corresponding browsing unit; a graphic browsing unit for generating a graphic output signal according to the instructions and data necessary for running the graphic browsing unit; a voice browsing unit for generating a speech output signal according to the instructions and data necessary for running the voice browsing unit; a graphic output unit for outputting graphics according to the graphic output signal; and a speech output unit for outputting speech according to the speech output signal.
