Abstract: Disclosed is a polypropylene composition comprising (A) polypropylene and (B) a specific propylene-l-butene random copolymer in a specific amount ratio. The propylene-l-butene random copolymer (B) is characterized in that: (1) the copolymer contains 50 to 95 % by mol of constituent units from propylene and 50 to 5 % by mol of constituent units from 1-butene, (2) the intrinsic viscosity, as measured in decahydronaphthalene at 135 DEG C, is in the range of 0.1 to 12 dl/g, (3) the molecular weight distribution (Mw/Mn), as determined measured by GPC, is not more than 3, and (4) the parameter B value indicating randomness of the copolymerized monomer sequence distribution is in the range of 1.0 to 1.5. Also disclosed is a polypropylene composite film comprising (I) a crystalline polypropylene layer and (II) a layer formed from the polypropylene composition, which is laminated on at least one surface of the crystalline polypropylene layer (I). The polypropylene composition is excellent in heat resistance and low-temperature heat-sealing properties as well as in flexibility and impact resistance. The polypropylene composite film is excellent in not only heat-sealing properties, particularly low-temperature heat-sealing properties, but also transparency, scratch resistance and blocking resistance.

Abstract: The polypropylene composite film of the present invention comprises (A) a crystalline polypropylene layer and (B) a propylene-1-butene random copolymer layer which is laminated on at least one surface of the crystalline polypropylene layer (A). The propylene/1-butene random copolymer (B) has the following properties: (1) the copolymer comprises 50 to 95 % by mol of constituent units derived from propylene and 50 to 5 % by mol of constituent units derived from 1-butene, (2) the intrinsic viscosity is 0.1 to 5 dl/g, (3) the molecular weight distribution (Mw/Mn) is not less than 3, and (4) the parameter B value is 1.0 to 1.5. The crystalline polypropylene layer (A) of this composite film may be unstretched, monoaxially stretched or biaxially oriented. The polypropylene composite film has excellent heat-sealing properties, such as low-temperature heat-sealing properties and heat-sealing strength, and hot tack properties. The polypropylene composite film is almost free from surface tackiness and shows good slip properties and high blocking resistance at high temperatures, so that it is suitable for high-speed packaging. In addition, this composite film also has good transparency and scratch resistance. The polypropylene composite film of the invention having the above-mentioned excellent properties can be favorably used for packaging of foods, fill packaging and fiber packaging.

Abstract: A composition comprising 100 parts by weight of a polyethylene resin (A) and 2 to 5000 parts by weight of a linear ethylene-.alpha.-olefin random copolymer (B) comprising ethylene and a C6-C20 .alpha.-olefin, wherein the polyethylene resin (A) has: (a) an MFR (ASTM D 1238, 190 ~C, load of 2.16 kg) of 0.1 to 200 g/10 min and (b) a density of 0.901 to 0.970 g/cm3 and the copolymer (B) has: (a) a density of 0.870 to 0.900 g/cm3, (b) an intrinsic viscosity ¢! of 0.3 to 3.0 dl/g as determined at 135 ~C in decalin, (c) a glass transition temperature (Tg) of -50~C or below, (d) a crystallinity of less than 40 % as determined by X-ray diffractometry, (e) a molecular weight distribution (Mw/Mn) of 3.0 or below as determined by GPC, (f) a B value of 1.0 to 1.4 as determined by 13C-NMR spectroscopy according to a specific equation and (g) a g * value exceeding 0.95, the g * value being a ¢!/¢!blank ratio wherein ¢! is the above intrinsic viscosity (b) and ¢!blank is the intrinsic viscosity of a linear ethylene-propylene copolymer having the same weight-average molecular weight as that of the copolymer (B) (as determined by the light scattering method) and an ethylene content of 70 mole %. This resin composition can give a molded article excellent in flexibility and tensile characteristics.

Abstract: The polyamide resin composition of the present invention comprises 100 parts by weight of a polyamide resin and 5 to 200 parts by weight of a graft-modified ethylene/1-butene random copolymer having a graft quantity of an unsaturated carboxylic acid or its derivative of 0.01 to 10 % by weight. The graft-modified ethylene/1-butene random copolymer is a graft-modified product of an ethylene/1-butene random copolymer having a 1-butene content of 15 to 25 % by mol, an intrinsic viscosity ¢.pi.! of 0.5 to 3.5 dl/g, a glass transition temperature (Tg) of not higher than -60 .degree.C, a crystallinity of less than 10 %, and a parameter (B value) indicating randomness of a copolymerized monomer chain distribution, as measured by a 13C-NMR method, of 1.0 to 1.4. The polyamide resin composition shows high melt flowability, namely, good moldability, and it can provide a molded article excellent in flexibility, low-temperature impact resistance, resistance to water absorption and resistance to saline solutions.

Abstract: A novel propylene elastomer having such characteristics that: (1) it is composed of 50-95 mole % of units derived from propylene and 50-5 mole % of units derived from 1-butene, (2) it has a triad tracticity (mm faction) of at least 90 % as determined by 13C-NMR spectrometry (in hexachlorobutadiene using tetramethylsilane as the internal standard), (3) it has a limiting viscosity of 0.1-12 dl/g (at 135 ~C in decalin), (4) it has a molecular weight distribution (Mw/Mn) of 3 or less, and (5) it has a randomness parameter (B) of 1.0 to 1.5, preferably 1.0 to 1.3. In addition, it is desirable that: (6) it has a melting point (Tm) of 60-140 ~C and the following relationship holds between the Tm and the 1-butene unit content (M, mole %): -2.6 M + 130 = -1.5 M + 75, the elastomer is excellent in rigidity, heat and scratch resistances, transparency, heat sealability, and blocking resistance. It can be produced by using a specified transition metal compound as the catalyst.
