    Abstract: This disclosure provides methods, devices and systems for distributed transmission of short training fields in a power spectral density limited frequency band. In one aspect, a device receives a distributed resource unit (dRU) assignment for transmission of a dRU portion of a physical layer protocol data unit (PPDU); determines a spatial stream global cyclic shift delay (CSD) index for an short training field (STF) of the dRU portion of the PPDU; and transmits, based on the spatial stream global CSD index, the EHT of the dRU portion of the PPDU across a dRU spreading bandwidth associated with the dRU assignment using a tone plan and sequence corresponding to a regular resource unit (rRU) transmission mode.

    Abstract: This disclosure provides methods, devices and systems for increasing the transmit power of wireless communication devices operating on power spectral density (PSD)-limited wireless channels. Some implementations more specifically relate to tone mapping techniques and physical layer convergence protocol (PLCP) protocol data unit (PPDU) designs that support duplicate (or "DUP mode") transmissions with channel puncturing. In some implementations, a wireless communication device may transmit a PPDU carrying user data over a wireless channel excluding one or more punctured subchannels, where the user data is transmitted in a DUP mode. As such, the user data may be mapped to a number (N) of tones spanning a first portion of the wireless channel and a duplicate copy of the user data may be mapped to N tones spanning a second portion of the wireless channel.

    Abstract: This disclosure provides methods, devices and systems for generating enhanced sounding packets. Some implementations more specifically relate to sounding packet designs that support enhancements to wireless communication protocols associated with the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) 802.11be amendment, and future generations, of the IEEE 802.11 standard. In some implementations, an enhanced null data packet announcement (NDPA) frame may be configurable to support multiple versions of the IEEE 802.11 standard. For example, the enhanced NDPA frame may be configured in accordance with a legacy or a non-legacy NDPA frame format. In some other implementations, the enhanced NDPA frame may include a subfield carrying information identifying a particular basic service set (BSS) which may be associated with one or more STA information fields. Still further, in some implementations, an Extremely High Throughput (EHT) PPDU may include signaling to indicate whether the EHT PPDU is formatted as a sounding NDP.

    Abstract: This disclosure provides systems, methods, and apparatuses for wireless communication. An example apparatus selects a resource unit (RU) for a physical (PHY) layer convergence protocol (PLCP) protocol data unit (PPDU). The selected RU includes a set of contiguous tones spanning a bandwidth. The apparatus maps the set of contiguous tones to a set of non-contiguous tones distributed across the frequency spectrum, and transmits the PPDU over the set of non-contiguous tones. Another example apparatus selects an RU of a group of RUs that collectively span a frequency spectrum, and formats a PPDU based on a first frequency bandwidth wider than the selected RU's bandwidth. The apparatus parses the contiguous tones of the selected RU to a set of non-contiguous tones spanning a unique segment of a second frequency bandwidth wider than the first frequency bandwidth, and schedules a transmission of the PPDU over the set of non-contiguous tones.

    Abstract: This disclosure provides methods, devices and systems for obtaining and providing channel feedback. In some implementations, a beamformee provides channel feedback to a beamformer that enables the beamformer to construct and independently precode two or more different sets of spatial streams for transmission to the beamformee. The independent precoding of the different sets of spatial streams ensures that the decodings of the different sets of spatial streams may be decoupled from one another at the beamformee. To provide the channel feedback, the beamformee partitions a channel estimate into two or more sub-estimates prior to performing a channel decomposition. In some implementations, the beamformee determines null-space-based projections of the sub-estimates before performing the channel decomposition. The determination of the null-space-based projections enables the beamformee to perform independent decompositions of the multiple channel sub-estimates to determine multiple respective feedback matrices, which are then assembled to provide the channel feedback to the beamformer. The channel feedback is then reconstructed and disassembled by the beamformer to perform the independent precoding of the different sets of spatial streams.

    Abstract: This disclosure provides systems, methods and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on computer storage media, for sub-channel selection in a wireless network. In one aspect, a first message is generated at a first electronic device of a wireless network in response to a number of electronic devices of a wireless network being less than a threshold number. The first message indicates particular sub-channels of a transmission band that are to be used for a transmission in a single user (SU) mode of operation to a second electronic device of the wireless network. The method further includes sending the first message to the second electronic device. The first message indicates that a second message is to be sent to the second electronic device using the particular sub-channels. The method further includes sending the second message to the second electronic device via the transmission using the particular sub-channels.
