Abstract:
Various aspects described herein relate to encoding or decoding a media access control (MAC) layer transport block having an enhanced MAC header format, a split and partial MAC header, and a MAC transport block design. A method, a computer-readable medium, and an apparatus are provided. The techniques described herein may apply to different communications technologies, including 5th Generation (5G) or New Radio (NR), wireless communications technology.
Abstract:
Certain aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to enhanced procedures for search, measurement, and positioning with aid of motion detection information. According to certain aspects, a method is provided for wireless communications which may be performed, for example, by a user equipment (UE). The method generally includes determining one or more parameters of the UE; dynamically adjusting a periodicity of at least one of: cell search and measurements or global positioning system (GPS) signal acquisition based, at least in part, on the one or more parameters; and performing at least one of: the cell search and measurements or GPS signal acquisition according to the adjusted periodicity. In aspects, an enhanced technique for motion state detection is provided. The method may result in power savings, for example, when the UE is stationary and can reduce the periodicity that the UE performs search, measurement and GPS signal acquisition.
Abstract:
Enhanced techniques may be used for identifying and reporting collision- based scenarios. In one example, a wireless modem measures a number of signals received from a number of devices that are located on the same chip as the wireless modem when a physical link between the wireless modem and an accelerometer is broken, the accelerometer is inoperable, or a combination thereof. In the event of a collision event, the wireless modem may use the measured signals to determine that the collision event has occurred and may transmit an indication of the collision event. For instance, the wireless modem may use signals from an audio sensor, a motion sensor, a global navigation satellite system (GNSS), or the like.
Abstract:
Certain aspects of the present disclosure relate to wireless communications, and more particularly, to techniques for preparing data for transmission from a user equipment in a wireless communication system. In some embodiments, a method may limit memory access starts during a time interval to ensure that all memory access operations are completed with a transmission time interval.
Abstract:
Techniques and apparatus for implementing a radio link control (RLC) layer and/or packet data convergence protocol (PDCP) layer window advance with holes (e.g., one or more missing packets) are provided. One technique includes generating a sequence of packets for transmission to an apparatus. A determination of whether to request the apparatus to at least temporarily ignore missing packets from the sequence is made based on one or more criteria. A message with an indication of the determination is transmitted to the apparatus. The apparatus may receive the sequence of packets, detect missing packets in the sequence, and process the sequence of packets in accordance with the indication in the received message.
Abstract:
Aspects of the present disclosure describe transmitting data in wireless communications. A set of packets for transmission in a defined sequence can be received where the set of packets includes two or more packets. It can be detected that a packet, of the set of packets, is a prioritized packet type. The packet can be prioritized for transmission ahead of its order in the defined sequence based on the detection of the prioritized packet type. The packet can be transmitted ahead of its order in the defined sequence to an access point.
Abstract:
Techniques are described for wireless communication. A base station may indicate to a UE, in a pre-wakeup period, whether the base station will transmit a grant to the UE. The pre-wakeup period may occur at the beginning of a DRX cycle. The base station may transmit an indication of a grant to the UE, and the base station may indicate a time period during which the UE may wake up to receive the grant. The indication may include scheduling information for the grant. The UE may select a DRX mode based on a configuration received from the base station, a traffic pattern, or scheduling history. The UE may monitor for the grant, and receive the grant. In other examples, the UE or the base station may identify that the grant was not received, and may reset a DRX cycle based on the identification.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus for receiving a notification of missing packets include receiving a set of data packets transmitted by a device and having a corresponding set of sequence numbers, identifying one or more data packets having corresponding sequence numbers that fall within the set of sequence numbers and are yet to be received, receiving an indication from the device that the one or more data packets will not be transmitted by the device, and processing the set of data packets without the one or more data packets in response to receiving the indication.
Abstract:
Certain aspects of the present disclosure relate to methods and apparatus for improving buffer size setting for one or more buffer status reports, such as one or more extended buffer status reports (eBSRs) in a wireless communication system. According to certain aspects, a method is provided herein for wireless communications performed by a user equipment (UE). The method generally includes determining a first amount of data stored in a buffer at the UE; and if the first amount of the data satisfies (e.g., is equal to or greater than) a threshold, sending a first BSR indicating a second amount of buffered data at the UE greater than the first amount. As a result, the UE may be scheduled by the base station for a greater amount uplink resources for transmitting the buffered data.
Abstract:
Certain aspects of the present disclosure relate to methods and apparatus for adjusting flow rate of transmissions received at a device. A user equipment (UE) determines, in response to detecting a trigger condition, a proposal to adjust feedback provided to a base station (BS) in order to adjust a flow rate of transmissions received at the UE from the BS. The UE adjusts the feedback based on the proposal and at least one additional condition and transmits the adjusted feedback to the BS.
