    Abstract: PURPOSE:To enable exact detection of an original size by driving with pulse and time dividely light emitting elements, detecting the outputs from photodetectors according to the time divisions and eliminating the influence of crosstalk light. CONSTITUTION:Timing signals 11a, 11b are inputted to driving circuits 14a, 14b for light emitting elements which drive alternately light emitting elements 51, 53, 55 and 52, 54. More specifically, the adjacent elements 52, 54 are put out while the elements 51, 53, 55 emit light. Photodetector 61-65 sides are connected respectively with amplifier circuits 151-155, etc. to amplify the light outputs from the respective photodetectors 6 and at the same time said outputs are compared with reference values and the results thereof are taken into a latch circuit 17. The closure of an original cover 2 is confirmed by a decision circuit 21 which decides an original size. The S/N ratio by the crosstalk light of the other light emitting elements is thus only the crosstalk positioned in every other element, by which the influence of the crosstalk light is eliminated. The exact detection of the original size is thus made possible.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To detect wavelength of an irradiated light at high precision by compensating output of a PN-junction, for which a temperature compensating resistance is connected to the output part of a logarithmic compression circuit. CONSTITUTION:When inputting the output current of photodiodes PD1 and PD2 of deep and shallow junctions of an optical semiconductor device 1 to operational amplifier circuits OP1, OP2, it is subjected to logarithmic compression by diodes D1, D2 having a logarithmic characteristic which is inserted in a feedback circuit. Outputs VOP1, VOP2 are inputted to an arithmetic operational amplifier OP3 through resistances R1 and R2 respectively. A resistance to be connected to the operational amplifier OP3 is selected at R1=R2, R3=R4. Assuming short-circuit currents of the diodes PD1 and PD2 be ISC1, ISC2, VOUT=ValphaXR3/R2Xlog (ISC1/ ISC2). Therefore, re sistances R3, R2 of temperature coefficient sufficient enough to compensate a change of the constant Valpha according to temperatures are selected to keep ValphaXR3/R2 constant, a wavelength can be detected from light output at high precision.

Further, by comparing B the photo output current outputted from the circuts A1 and A2, the color difference output is formed.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To provide an electronic bird with a solar battery light in weight which is capable of artificially producing oscillated sound similar to a bird's note freely as desired in such a manner that sound is emitted when it gets bright while ceased when dark. CONSTITUTION:This is composed of a solar battery SB, a capacitor C, a switching circuit SW and an oscillating circuit OSC. When photo-current develops in the solar battery SB, it is stored in the capacitor C. Consequently, when voltage across the capacitor C exceeds the sum VF12 of forward voltage of diodes D1 and D2, a gate current begins to flow through the combination of transistors Tr1 and Tr2 having function of thyristors to start the function. The transistor Tr3 turns on earier than the thyristor function does by means of diodes D3 and D4 which is set to be less than VF12. But as the transistor 4 is off, there is no trouble in the on-action of the thyristor. When the switching circuit SW is on, the base circuit of the transistor Tr5 is formed in the oscillating circuit OSC, herein, a blocking oscillation circuit for performing oscillation whereby the song of the bird is emitted from a speaker SP.

As to this method for driving the stereoscopic image synthesizing device; the mirror 6 is rotated and moved at a uniform speed only in one direction and is synchronized with the displacement of a rotation angle so as to make the LED array 1 emit light and turned off.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To improve the incident efficiency of laser beams, and to miniaturize a laser unit by installing a mount surface, on which a laser diode chip is placed, at a position higher than the light-receiving surface of a photodiode for a monitor for receiving and monitoring a laser emitted from the rear of the laser diode chip. CONSTITUTION:A laser diode chip 21 and a photodiode 22 are mounted on a lead frame pin 23, and sealed with a transparent resin 24. A lead frame pin 23 section, on which the laser diode chip 21 is mounted, is made higher than a section, on which the photodiode 22 is mounted. The photodiode 22 is put on the surface of the lead frame pin 23. The rear outgoing end face of the laser diode chip 21 and the light-receiving surface of the photodiode 22 are placed respectively so as to have relationship of vertical positions. A lead frame is positioned positively, thus improving productivity and accuracy.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To reduce a current consumption by turning an optical coupler in the waiting state of a reduced current consumption when detection of an object to be detected is not necessary. CONSTITUTION:A judging means 26 reads in a data signal transmitted from an outside controller, and judges whether or not an identification code transmitted from the outside controller is coincident with the identification code of its own stored in an address memory 21, and when they disagree, the optical coupler is turned into the waiting state. On the other hand, when they are coincident with each other, the power sources of both a light emitting element 10 and a light receiving element 11 are turned on, the presence or absence of the object to be detected is detected by the received light quantity of the light receiving element 11, and the detected result is outputted through an operating means 27 to the outside controller. After that, the power sources of the light emitting element 10 and the light receiving element 11 are turned off, and the optical coupling device is returned back to the waiting sate. Thus, the power source of the optical coupler is turned off if unnecessary, so that the the current consumption can be reduced.
