Abstract: The tape recording and/or reproducing apparatus has tape supply and takeup reels and means for moving the tape therebetween at a predetermined speed, and recording and reproducing means, such as mode selecting buttons, for placing the recording and reproducing circuit of the apparatus into the recording or reproducing modes. The recording mode selecting means is interlocked with an instant-stop mechanism which is operative to temporarily and substantially instantaneously stop movement of the tape when the apparatus is in the reproducing mode. In addition the apparatus includes means which will prevent the apparatus from being placed in the recording mode while it is in the reproducing mode, unless the tape is previously stopped by the instant stop mechanism.

Abstract: An image display system stereoscopically reproduces a visual scene and includes an image display unit with a pair of LCD panels each starting its operation in response to a start pulse received every vertical field of an input video signal; a source of input video signals representing right and left stereoscopic video images every field; a circuit for generating right and left start pulses, which are mutually in an opposite-phase relationship, in synchronism with the arrival of the right and left video images; and a driver for driving the pair of LCD panels by the right and left start pulses. The image display unit is shaped into a virtual viewer incorporated in a ski-goggle type frame which is adapted to be worn on a user's head. The video images displayed on the two LCD panels are refreshed alternately to obtain a flickerless image without the necessity of employing any particular circuit or terminal.

Abstract: A carrying handle (20) for a compact video camera (1) which is not provided with carrying handle connections per se, is generally C-shaped with a lower horizontal portion (20a) which extends beneath the underside of the camera and is secured thereto by a screw (22) which is threaded into a threaded bore (8) provided in the camera (1) for connecting a tripod. The rearward facing mounting site is electrically connected with the forward facing connection site so that power from the battery (10) can be supplied to the camera (1). A grip portion (20c) of the handle (20) extends forward in spaced relationship over the top of the camera (10). Hot shoes (28, 29) are formed at the forward end of the grip portion (20c) and operatively connected with the rearward facing mounting site so as to enable power to be supplied thereto from the battery (10).
