PURPOSE:To rapidly start recording operation and to prevent a failure of lack of a leading part of a recording signal. CONSTITUTION:A recording standby mode is provided for the purpose of making an optical head 3 access a position capable of starting recording on an optical disk 2 and the pausing state in advance, so that rapid recording is feasible by starting recording when a recording start command is inputted from a key input operating part 8 under the state.

SOLUTION: A recording medium 6 comprises a fundamental data part 51 in which data reproducible without a key are recorded, an additional data part 52 in which data which do not become reproducible without a key for providing a high-quality image or a high-quality sound by being reproduced together with the data recorded in the fundamental data part 51 are recorded, and a collateral data part 53 in which data which do not become reproducible without a key concerning an artist, a jacket and the like are recorded. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical disk which enables a user to easily identify either a surface A or a surface B merely by viewing its appearance. SOLUTION: This optical disk has a disk substrate 3 which is formed with pit patterns 3b based on information signals on one surface, a reflection layer 3a which is so formed as to cover its surface, a disk substrate 4 which is formed with pit patterns 4b based on the information signals on its one surface, a reflection layer 4a which is disposed to cover its surface and a binder layer 5 which binds the disk substrates 3, 4 in the state of disposing these substrates opposite to each other. The colors of the reflection layer 3a and the reflection layer 4a are varied from each other to enable the identification of the surface A and the surface B of the optical disk from a difference in the color of the reflection layers.

PURPOSE:To change the order of reproduction without misoperation by canceling the reproduction of pieces of music expected to be reproduced next successively according to how many times the 2nd switch is operated before the reproduction of a piece of music being reproduced currently, and displaying the number of a piece of music right after the canceled music. CONSTITUTION:A piece of music expected to be reproduced next is canceled by pressing a clear key 22a as the 2nd switch. Namely, the display (blinking) of the number T of the next music on a number matrix display part 12 is turned off. Then, a variable T for indicating the next music to be reproduced is increased (T=T+1) and then the number of the next music is set as the number of music to be reproduced right after the current reproduction. Further, it is discriminated whether the increased number T is larger than the final number M of music (T>M). When not, the variable T which is increased is blinked on the number matrix display part 12 and when yes, the continuous reproduction mode is finished.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simultaneously record a plurality of management information corresponding to the kinds of reproducing apparatus to a recording medium, to judge the kinds of the apparatus when the apparatus are reproduced and to manage copying and reproducing by using the management information meeting the apparatus to be reproduced. SOLUTION: The data on the content from a CD, CD-ROM, etc., are supplied to an input terminal 1 and the number-of-copying-times management information DRM-PCM and DRM-RCN are supplied to the input terminal 2. The headers made to include the number-of-copying-times management information DRM- PCM and DRM-RCN from the input terminal 2 are supplied to an adder 10 in a header forming circuit 3. The data of the contents including the supplied headers is subjected to error correction encoding in an encoder 4 and is subjected to, for example, EFM in a modulation circuit 5. The output of the modulation circuit 5 is supplied through an RF amplifier 6 to an optical pickup 7. The data of the contents is recorded to a disk 8 by the optical pickup 7.
