Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily retrieve an information providing program complying with retrieval conditions by retrieving and reading out screen information on a page meeting the specified retrieval conditions and sending data representing the read screen information. SOLUTION: The client PC 4 of a client 3 sends a specific key word, inputted as a retrieval condition for obtaining a home page that the user desires, to the retrieval server 7 of a service provider 2 from a public telephone network through the Internet 6. A top page DB 9 reads out all data of the top page corresponding to an index number supplied from the retrieval server 7 by referring to an index retrieval table according to the index number and sends them back to the retrieval server 7. The retrieval server 7 generates an IP packet by adding the IP address of the client PC 4 to the header part of the data of the top page described in the HTML form.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently record data of a transfer rate lower the a recording rate or a variable rate on a tape by intermittently running the tape and record ing dummy data in a part of an unstable part at the time of starting/stopping. SOLUTION: Apersonal computer 4 takes in data of 1-10Mbps variable bit rates such as MPEG 2 from a satellite broadcast, and stores the data in a bank RAM 52 of an interface board 5. When the data of bank RAM 52 reaches a fixed amount, a bridge control part 51 sends a start signal to a recording and reproducing device 6. A mechanism control part 65 starts mechanical deck 66, and rotates a capstan to the forward for 0.8 seconds and then stops it. Dummy data provided with ID data are recorded at the same time as starting. The control part transfers data of bank RAM 52 from the start for 0.6 seconds, 0.167 seconds after start, and records them at 25Mbps by helical scanning. The dummy data with ID are recorded for the remaining 0.033 seconds before stop.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To easily change the focused position during photographing on an auto-focus mode even when a focal point is set on a wrong object. CONSTITUTION:The high band component level of a video signal is detected by a high pass filter 6, and an auto-focus operation is carried out so that the highest component level of the video signal is detected. Under such conditions, the peak of a normal distribution shifts at the time of letting a ring 8 rotate. The position of a focusing lens 3 is controlled based on the high frequency component level of the video signal weighted by the normal distribution. Thus the focused position can be changed on an auto-focus mode without changing the picture angle.
