PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device and a method for displaying image where the images of respective plural divided blocks can be displayed in the prescribed order at the time of switching a display picture and various special visual effects can be provided in a simple circuit configuration. SOLUTION: At the time of picture switching, the image data of one frame are stored in a memory 62, the image of one frame is divided into plural blocks, image data corresponding to the images of respective blocks are successively read out of the memory 62, selected by a selector circuit 64 and written in the prescribed area of a memory 66 and in the memory 66, the written image data of respective blocks are successively moved. Since the stored data in the memory 66 are converted to analog signals and displayed on a display device, the images of respective blocks divided on the display picture successively appear on the picture and move to prescribed positions and when all the blocks are displayed, the selector circuit 64 selects ordinary image data.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform the optimum image emphasis processing in response to a reading mode and to improve the quality of an image to be displayed by applying the image emphasis processing to the supplied video signals by switching the prescribed set value according to an animation or a still picture of a read mode and displaying an image of the processed video signals in a read mode. SOLUTION: A CCD 2 stores the image data and then reads out the pixel data at the prescribed timing in accordance with a read mode to convert the pixel data into video signals. A camera signal processing circuit 6 applies the image emphasis processing to the video signals supplied from an image pickup means 2 by switching the prescribed set value in accordance with an animation or a still picture of a read mode. A microcomputer 8 supplies a control signal in accordance with a read mode to the means 2 and the circuit 6. Then a monitor 19 displays an image of video signals after the image emphasis processing is performed in a read mode.

PURPOSE:To easily change the focused position during photographing on an auto-focus mode even when a focal point is set on a wrong object. CONSTITUTION:The high band component level of a video signal is detected by a high pass filter 6, and an auto-focus operation is carried out so that the highest component level of the video signal is detected. Under such conditions, the peak of a normal distribution shifts at the time of letting a ring 8 rotate. The position of a focusing lens 3 is controlled based on the high frequency component level of the video signal weighted by the normal distribution. Thus the focused position can be changed on an auto-focus mode without changing the picture angle.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize effectively novel fade-in/fade-out in a way that an entire screen image in a prescribed color is focused toward a point designated by a point designation means at the start of photographing and the image area in the prescribed color is being spread over the entire screen image from the designated point at the end of photographing. SOLUTION: A fader processing circuit 6 writes a video signal from a digital signal processing circuit 5 to an internal frame memory, and fade-in/fade-out is conducted by applying replacement processing to the video signal with a white level signal under the control of a master controller 7 when the video signal is read. The master controller 7 controls the screen so that the screen image is fully white at the start of photographing and then the white level area is focused concentrically toward a designated point on the screen designated by a photographer and the white area is being spread concentrically from the designated point on the screen at the end of photographing and the photographing is finished in the fully white image finally.

When a display (2) of 'automatic' is selected and then a display (3) of 'determination' is selected in the display B, the device is placed in automatic focus adjustment mode. Even when a display (5) of 'infinite', the focus adjustment is temporarily set to an infinite distance and then the manual mode is entered. SOLUTION: The image pickup signals read in the interlace read mode from a CCD image sensor 23 are supplied through a camera signal processing circuit 24 to a DV recording and reproducing signal processing part 4 as they are and the image pickup signals read in the entire pixel read mode from the CCD image sensor 23 are transformed to interlace signals by a scanning transformation part 3A and supplied to the DV recording and reproducing signal processing part 4.
