Abstract:
The present invention relates to an information processing apparatus, an information processing method, and a program in which a content piece matching preference information of a user or a content piece similar to a specified content piece can be searched for with a smaller amount of computation and can be provided to the user. Each of items of metadata (such as title, artist name, genre, review text, tempo, beat, and rhythm) of music is classified into any of cluster layers (first to n-th layers), and is classified (clustering) into a plurality of clusters provided in the cluster layers into which actual information of each of the items is classified. Then, instead of the metadata, cluster information including cluster IDs (such as CL11 in Fig. 2) of the clusters into which actual information of each of the items of metadata is classified is compiled in a database as information indicating the features of music. The present invention can be applied to a homepage server for recommending a purchase of content such as music data, a video recorder for recommending a recording reservation of a television program, and the like.
Abstract:
AN INFORMATION RECORDING METHOD AND APPARATUS AND AN INFORMATION REPRODUCING AND APPARATUS IN WHICH AV DATA CAN BE RECORDED OR REPRODUCED TEMPORALLY CONTINUOUSLY WITHOUT PRODUCING FRAGMENTATION. TO THIS END, THE APPARATUS INCLUDES A STORAGE UNIT (7) AT LEAST INCLUDING A MANAGEMENT INFORMATION REGION AND A USER DATA REGION MADE UP OF PLURAL LOGICAL BLOCKS, AND A RECORDING UNIT (9) FOR CONTINUOUSLY RECORDING INFORMATION SIGNALS FROM A RECORDING END LOGICAL BLOCK IN THE USER DATA REGION OF THE STORAGE UNIT (7) AND AGAIN RECORDING INFORMATION SIGNALS FROM THE RECORDING START LOGICAL BLOCK.(FIGURE 2)
Abstract:
The information storage disc has ID storage areas (41H) formed in predetermined locations in the radial direction of the disc, the ID storage areas storing either sector or track numbers (resp. 40,41) previously and magnetically. In this setup, if the read head (30) is dislodged from the center line of a given track (10), the read head still reads the sector number correctly. The information recording and reproducing apparatus has the read head (30) and the write head (31) arranged so that they are positioned on a given intermediate track in a substantially aligned manner. With the write head positioned on a given track, the read head is dislodged from that track only by a negligible distance. This allows the read head to read sector and track numbers unfailingly from the disc.

Abstract:
The digitized image signal and audio signal are synthesized in a predetermined format by the digital signal processor circuit 6 and the synthesized signal is supplied to the VTR unit 10 for carrying out the digital recording. The image signal from the digital signal processor circuit 6 is supplied to the viewfinder 11 for displaying the processed image signal. The system control circuit 13 is provided which controls the processing operations in the digital signal processor circuit 6 and the VTR unit 10. To this system control circuit 13 is supplied the signal from the standby switch 14 for switching among the power supply off, the VTR mode, the camera (animated picture) standby and the photo (still picture) standby. Also, to this system control circuit 13 is supplied the signal from the push button 15 for controlling the start/stop of recording the camera (animated picture) and the still picture recording.
Abstract:
IN A DIGITAL BROADCAST RECEIVING APPARATUS (3), DIGITAL BROADCAST SIGNALS PROVIDED BY A DIGITAL BROADCAST METHOD ARE SUPPLIED TO VARIOUS TYPES OF EXTERNAL UNITS AND ARE EFFECTIVELY UTILIZED. IN THE ABOVE APPARATUS, A DESCRAMBLER DESCRAMBLES A TRANSPORT STREAM OUTPUT FROM A FRONT END UNIT (12) AND SUPPLIES IT TO A DIGITAL INTERFACE (30) AND A DEMULTIPLEXER (132). THE DEMULTIPLEXER (132) EXTRACTS FROM THE TRANSPORT STREAM A COMPRESSED VIDEO SIGNAL AND A COMPRESSED AUDIO SIGNAL OF A PROGRAM SPECIFIED BY A USER, AND SUPPLIES THE EXTRACTED SIGNALS TO AN MPEG DECODER. THE MPEG DECODER DECOMPRESSES THE SUPPLIED VIDEO SIGNAL AND THE AUDIO SIGNAL AND SUPPLIES THEM TO THE DIGITAL INTERFACE (30), AN NTSC ENCODER, AND AN AUDIO SIGNAL D/A CONVERTER. THE DIGITAL INTERFACE (30) SUPPLIES EITHER OF THE TRANSPORT STREAM OR THE DECOMPRESSED DATA TO A DIGITAL EXTERNAL UNIT UNDER THE CONTROL OF THE CONTROLLER.
