Abstract: A process for the production of high nitrile fibres comprising 50-95% by weight polymerised acrylonitrile monomer and 5-50% by weight of at least one polymerised olefinically unsaturated monomer is disclosed, in which the high nitrile multipolymer is melt extruded in the absence of solvent and water, and the resultant melt spun into a high nitrile filament at a temperature higher than the glass transition temperature of the multipolymer, with the monofilament or multiple filaments being collected as a bundle, web or combinations thereof.

Abstract: IMPACT-RESISTANT ACRYLONITRILE COPOLYMER PROCESS The process for copolymerization of styrene and acrylonitrile in the presence of a diolefin elastomer in high conversion to polymers having superior impact resistance and other excellent physical properties by the careful control of the percent unrealized total solids during the early stages of the copolymerization is described.

Abstract: 1352437 Graft polymers STANDARD OIL CO 24 June 1971 [22 Sept 1970] 29631/71 Heading C3G A resinous polymer is produced by polymerization of 100 parts by weight of (A) an olefinically unsaturated nitrile of structure wherein R represents hydrogen, a C 1 to C 4 -alkyl group or a halogen, (B) 0À5 to 10 moles per mole of (A) of a vinyl or vinylidene aromatic monomer and (C) 0À2 to 2À5 moles per mole of (A) of maleimide in the presence of from 1 to 20 parts of a conjugated diolefin elastomer. Examples are given in which styrene, acrylonitrile and maleimide are polymerized in an aqueous emulsion containing polybutadiene or butadienestyrene copolymer.
