Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the coating film formed on the front surface of a member to be coated from largely protruding from the discharge width of a discharge port and to make the film thickness of the coating film uniform in a transverse direction by disposing limiting means for limiting the discharge area of a coating liquid within a regulated discharge width between both ends of the discharge port. SOLUTION: A manifold 62 is formed in the central part in a slit die 40 and is always connected via an inside passage to a coating liquid supplying hose. A slit 64 extends perpendicularly downward from this manifold 62. This slit 64 opens to the rear surface of a slit die 40. In such a case, upward facing slopes 70 communicating with both ends of the discharge port 66 and horizontal relief surfaces 72 respectively communicating with the top ends of these slopes 70 are formed on the rear surface of the slit die 40 and are functioned as the limiting means. Namely, the clearance therebetween larger than the clearance H is sufficiently largely assured to limit the occurrence of capillarity and to confine the film thickness of the coating film within the permissible range over the entire area in its transverse direction.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain a cap gap adjusting method adaptable without altering a cap shape and excellent in controllability and a cap by correcting the load applied to a cap when the difference between the loads of adjacent adjusting means exerted on the cap exceeds a predetermined upper limit value and adjusting the difference between the loads to the predetermined upper limit value. CONSTITUTION:When a molding error is larger than a tolerance molding error, a control unit 7 corrects the load pushing down the upper lip of a cap 3 of the heat bolt 31 at the first position exceeding the tolerance molding error. In correction operation, the control unit 7 outputs a correction signal to a power supply 33 to correct the voltage applied to the heater of the heat bolt 31 or a current supply time. After the completion of this correction operation, the control unit 7 repeats correction operation until the molding error enters the tolerance molding error.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To stabilize film formation while a life of a filter is remarkably prolonged by using a metal powder sintered filter wherein a sieve opening of the filter is successively decreased in the order from the initial filtration process, and in the last filtration process, a sieve opening larger than that in the preceeding process is provided. SOLUTION: Polyester resin is extruded by melting with an extruding machine, and the molten resin is successively filtered with a filter consisting of metal powder sintered compact of a large sive opening on the first stage, a filter consisting of metal fiber sintered compact wherein the sieve opening is the minimum and filter precision is 10 μm or under on the second stage, and a filter consisting of the metal powder sintered compact of a large sieve opening lastly. For the filter in this case, molten resin from, for example, the extruding machine 1 is filtered by using three or more kinds of filters 2, 3, 4. The filtered molten resin is discharged in a sheet state from a mouthpiece. A resin sheet is solidified by cooling with a cooling rotor 12 to become a polyester resin sheet 6.

SOLUTION: In a slit gap adjusting apparatus for a mouthpiece having a plurality of the slit gap adjusting bolts 12 provided to one of lips 14a, 14b forming the slit 11 of the mouthpiece 1 ejecting a molten resin in a sheet form and arranged in the longitudinal direction of the slit, a plurality of the motors provided corresponding to the adjusting bolts 12 and a plurality of the drive shafts connecting them, a means for allotting the quantities of the forward or reverse rotation of the motors to the adjacent bolts 12i-1, 12i+1 of the corresponding slit gap adjusting bolt 12i in a predetermined ratio is provided.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To stabilize the shape of a liquid pool during the formation of a coating film and to make the formation of the coating film having a uniform film thickness possible by setting the length along the progressing direction of the bottom end face of a front lip of a coating applicator shorter than the length along the progressing direction of the bottom end face of a rear lip. SOLUTION: This coating device is constituted by arranging a slit die 40 as the coating applicator above a stage 6 so as to face this stage. This slit die 40 has the front lip 58 and the rear lip 60. These lips are stuck to each other forward and backward in the forward and backward moving directions of the stage 6 and are integrally coupled to each other. A manifold 62 is formed in the central part in the slit die 40 and is connected via an inside passage to a coating liquid supplying hose. In such a case, the length LF at the bottom end face 70 of the front lip 58 is set shorter than the length LR at the bottom end face 74 of the rear lip 60. As a result, the shape of the liquid pool is stabilized during the formation of the coating film. The formation of the coating film having the uniform film thickness is made possible.
