Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain a magnetic toner which obviates the deterioration in image quality with lapse of time and has a long life by constituting the magnetic toner of at least magnetic powder, coloring agent, charging agent of a humic acid and binder resin. CONSTITUTION:The magnetic toner is produced by granulating the kneaded mixture contg. at least the magnetic powder, coloring agent, charging agent and binder resin to 3-40mu diameter. The toner is composed of 10-70wt% magnetic powder, 0.5-10% coloring agent, 0.1-10% charging agent which consists of the humic acid and improves the dispersibility of the magnetic powder by charging the toner particles to negative so as to extend the life of the toner and 25-85wt% binder resin. The good image quality is thus maintained for a long period of time at the high density in an initial period and with substantially no uneven density and ground stains.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To prolong the service life of a toner and to reduce the cost by incorporating specified electrostatic charging agents into the toner particles. CONSTITUTION:Humic acid and a metal-contg. azo dye as electrostatic charging agents are incorporated into toner particles consisting essentially of resin and magnetic powder. The pref. amts. of the humic acid and the metal-contg. azo dye incorporated are 0.1-10wt.% each. The proper amt. of the magnetic powder in the toner particles is 10-70wt.%, especially 30-60wt.%. The dispersibility of the magnetic powder in the binding resin is improved by treatment with a silane or titanium coupling agent. The humic acid and the metal-contg. azo dye provide stable negative chargeability to the toner particles by synergism and prolong the service life.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain a developer having a long life for flash fixing, by mixing a toner contg. bisphenol A type resin in the state of B-stage as a principal component with a carrier to remarkably retard the contamination of the carrier surface due to the toner. CONSTITUTION:Molten bisphenol A type epoxy resin in the state of A-stage is mixed with a suitable pigment or dye, etc., cooled to room temp., and coarsely crushed. The operation is repeated several times to prepare a toner contg. >=50wt% bisphenol A type epoxy resin in the state of B-stage. The secondary transition point of the epoxy resin in the state of B-stage is >=2 deg.C above that of the epoxy resin in the state A-stage. The toner is slightly harder than a toner contg. the resin in the stage of A-stage and has lower stickiness, so it contaminates hardly the surface of a carrier and gives a developer having a long life and comparable to a conventional developer in fixability.
