Abstract: PURPOSE:To improve image performance and to enhance the light transmittance of a base and conductive layer by constituting the base of a seamless belt consisting of a biaxially stretched thermoplastic polyester resin and an over coat layer formed on the outside of the belt. CONSTITUTION:The base is constituted of the seamless belt consisting of the biaxially stretched thermoplastic polyester resin and the over coat layer formed on the outer side of the belt. The polyester resin to be used is exemplified by polyethylene terephthalate, polybutene terephthalate, etc. A cylindrical film formed of a polyester resin is used as the seamless belt. A resin which has excellent film formability and has the good adhesiveness to the seamless belt is selected as the resin constituting the over coat layer. Image defects are thereby eliminated and the high ray transmittance to allow exposing even from the rear surface of the photosensitive body is obtd.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To prevent color mixing and deficiency of image density by forming an electrically insulating layer on a photosensitive layer formed on a conductive substrate and specifying the photosensitive layer. CONSTITUTION:The photosensitive layer having a dark resistivity of 10 -10 OMEGA.cm contains a photoconductive CdS powder doped with 1X10 -10X10 mol Cu and 1X10 -20X10 mol Cl and a binder resin for binding the CdS, having a resistivity of at least 5X10 OMEGA.cm in an amount of 5-30wt%. This photosensitive layer is used for the simultaneous process, thus permitting the potential difference between the areas subjected to the second exposure in the first development stage, and the areas not subjected to both of the first and second exposures to be reduced, color mixing not only to be prevented, but also the contrast potential in the first and second development stages to be made high enough, and consequently, deficiency of image density to be prevented.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain a dry type toner used for electrophotographic methods which is difficult to receive the effect of moisture in the atmosphere, has stable conductivity and provides superior image quality by containing conductive short fibers in or on the resin powder of a specific grain size range in forming said toner. CONSTITUTION:A resin such as natural resin, vinyl resin or acrylic resin which is melted and, if necessary, is added with a coloring agent, magnetic powder, etc., is further added with the short fibers slightly longer than the short fibers in which carbon fibers or metallic fibers are =2 in such a manner that said short fibers are contained. After cooling, the mixture is ground and classified. The short fibers are broken during grinding to desired lengths and are contained in or on the toner. The thus obtd. toner of 5-50mum grain sizes has moderate conductivity, does not cause any change in image quality despite the change in humidity, are reinforced with the short fibers to prevent cracking and provide a longer life, and prevents the degradation in image quality owing to ground stains.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain a toner which permits copying with stable image quality irrespective of the kinds of paper, the change in humidity, etc. by constituting the resin powder of high electric resistivity from two parts of different intensities of magnetism and chargeabilities. CONSTITUTION:Resin powder 1 of >=10 OMEGAcm resistivity which comprises the part 2 and part 3 of the resin powder contg. magnetic material, wherein the one part 2 has magnetism stronger than the other portion 3 and the part 2 and part 3 charge to mutually opposite polarities is used as a magnetic toner (fig. a). The above- mentioned resin powder is formed by mixing predetermined amounts of, for example, magnetic powder and molten resin, covering the mixture 3 of predetermined amounts of magnetic powder and molten resin on the surfaces of the resin powder 2 obtained by cooling and grinding said mixture to form resin powder 4, and grinding said powder to about half as shown by the line A-A then heat treating and classifying the powder.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To form a superior copy unaffected by paper quality and humidity change, by using a toner consisting of a static charge retaining resin powder of high resistivity and a static charge inducing resin powder of low resistivity each containing a magnetic material, and each chargeable reverse in polarity to each other by friction. CONSTITUTION:A static charge retentive resin powder of resistivity >=10 OMEGA.cm containing a magnetic material, and a static charge inductive resin powder of resistivity >=10 OMEGA.cm containing a magnetic material are mixed in the mixing ratio ranging 1:0.01-1:10 to prepare a toner. Both the resin powders are charged reversely in polarity to each other due to friction by selecting them properly. The 2 powders of particle diameter are selected in the range of 5-50mum. Development is effected by static electricity due to charging of the static charge retentive resin powder and electrostatic induction of the static charge inductive resin powder, and image transfer is effectively carried out in presence of the highly insulating static charge retentive resin powder independent of presence of the static charge inductive resin powder low in transfer efficiency, and a stable copy is formed unaffected by kinds of paper and change of the atmospheric humidity.
