    Abstract: PURPOSE:The reaction between p-dihalobenzene and alkali sulfide is conducted in an organic amide solvent in the presence of an alkali salt of organic sulfonate to produce title composition having high polymerization degree and being melt moldable. CONSTITUTION:The reaction of p-dihalobenzene with alkali sulfide except lithium sulfide is carried out in an oarganic amide solvent in the presence of at least one of aromatic sulfonate alkali metal salts of formula I and II (R is 1-12C alkyl, n is 0-2, M is Na, K, Rb, Cs) to produce high-viscosity poly-p-phenylene sulfied. The p-dihalobenzene used is preferably p-dichlorobenzene and the molar ratio of the p- dihalobenzene to the alkali sulfide is 0.95:1-1.2:1. The molar ratio of the aromatic sulfonate alkali metal salt added to the alkali sulfide is 0.1-1.5.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To easily control, to shorten reaction time, to enable production in a flow system and to improve productivity by causing a raw material and an oxidizing agent or reducing agent to flow on one side of a separation membrane and on the opposite side of the membrane respectively. CONSTITUTION:A raw material 1 and an oxidizing agent or reducing agent 7 are transferred to a separation membrane module or separation membrane element 4 by a pump 2 and a pump 8 respectively. The raw material side and the oxidizing agent or reducing agent side are distinguished by a separation membrane 10, not causing the raw material to enter the oxidizing agent or reducing agent side. Since the membrane area per module or element 4 is large, the oxidizing agent or reducing agent is thoroughly dispersed and fed to uniformly execute oxidation-reduction reaction, allowing a product 5 to be obtained. Consequently it is not possible that an excess oxidizing agent or reducing agent not required for reaction is mixed to generate insufficiently dissolved bubbles in the raw material. In addition, the feed quantity of the oxidizing agent or reducing agent is controlled by a simple operation and oxidation-reduction reaction is executed in a flow system uniformly and in a short time.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To simply perform processing with superior heat and alkali resistances by treating a molded body with a dispersion liq. contg. solid particles and polytetrafluoroethylene resin and by heat treating the treated molded body at a temp. above the tm.p. of the resin. CONSTITUTION:Solid particles such as particles of calcium silicate or magnesium carbonate having characteristics such as ability to shield radiation or electromagnetic waves are mixed with polytetrafluoroethylene resin such as tetrafluoroethylene resin to prepare a uniform dispersion liq. and a molded body is treated with the dispersion liq. The treated molded body is then heat treated at a temp. above the m.p. of the resin. By such simple processing, various characteristics such as heat and alkali resistances can be provided to the processed part and the processed part has superior flexibility though it contains the solid particles.
