Abstract:
A novel dry planographic printing plate is provided herein. It has a base substrate on which the following mixture is applied. The first component of the mixture is a dialkylpolysiloxane wherein the alkyl group is at least one member selected from methyl and ethyl groups. The second component is a cross-linking agent comprising an alkoxy silane represented by the formula R4-a-bR'aSi(OR")b wherein a is 0 or 1, b is 2 or 3 and a+b is at most 3, R is an organic group containing a polar group or double bond and OR" is an alkoxy group. The third component is a cross-linking catalyst comprising a titanium or zirconium compound represented by the formula (R1O)(R2O)(R3O)(R4O)M, wherein M is titanium or zirconium, R1, R2, R3 and R4 are each an organic group. Such dry planographic printing plate has direct image forming characteristics which are superior both in ink repellency and in toner adhesion to prior art dry planographic printing plates.
Abstract:
The synthetic pulp-like material of the present invention is a fibrillated fibrous material composed mainly of hydrophobic polymer and a hydrophilic polymer, in which the hydrophilic polymer exists in the shape of irregular islands when viewed in cross section taken at a right angle to the fiber axis. The hydrophilic polymer is arranged as continuous or intermittent striae in the direction of the fiber axis, in a substantially greater part of said fibrous material, the ratio of the transverse dimension (?1) to the longitudinal dimension (?2), (?1/?2) is within the range of about 1-10 and the longitudinal dimension (?2) does not exceed 10 microns. This synthetic pulp-like material, useful for making synthetic paper, is produced by emulsion flash-spinning, in which a separate fluid is introduced into a nozzle upon discharging an emulsion containing polymers.

Abstract:
A phosphor-containing cured silicone which comprises a cured silicone that has a structure represented by general formula (1) and/or (2) and that comprises units represented by general formula (3) and/or (4) and which further contains a phosphor and particles that comprise units represented by general formula (3) and/or (4); a process for the production of the phosphor -containing cured silicone; a phosphor-containing silicone composition for the production of the phosphor-containing cured silicone; and a phosphor-containing silicone composition precursor for the production of the phosphor-containing cured silicone. In general formulae (1) to (4), R1 to R3 are each hydrogen, methyl, ethyl or propyl; X is methylene, dimethylene or trimethylene; and R4 to R6 are each a substituted or unsubstituted monovalent hydrocarbon group, and may be the same or different.
Abstract:
In preparing an emulsion from a poly-.alpha.-olefin, an organic solvent and a dispersion medium in order to produce a paper-forming material by the emulsion flash-spinning method, one of the following polymers is used as a surface active agent and hydrophilic polymer: (I) (II) (III) and (IV) a vinyl monomer-grafted polyvinyl alcohol, wherein A and B represent members selected from the group consisting of hydrogen, hydrocarbon radicals having from one to twenty carbon atoms, Li, Na, 1/2 Ca, 1/2 Mg, 1/2 Zn and 1/3 Al; R1 represents a member selected from the group consisting of hydrogen and a hydrocarbon radical having from one to thirty carbon atoms; R2 represents a member selected from the group consisting of hydrogen, -COOR3(in which R3 represents hydrogen or a hydrocarbon radical having from one to thirty carbon atoms), -OCOR? (in which R4 is a hydrocarbon radical having from one to twenty carbon atoms), halogen or -CH2OH; and R5 represents a member selected from the group consisting of -OCOR6 (in which R6 is a hydrocarbon radical having from one to twenty carbon atoms), -OH and -CH2OH.
Abstract:
A ceramic green sheet used suitably for the formation of a sintered ceramic substrate, which contains a ceramic powder and a photosensitive resin composition. Fine via-holes and through-holes of accurate size can be formed in the green sheet easily, reliably and economically.
