    Abstract: A diol composition comprising 95% by weight or more of a diol selected from the group consisting of ethylene glycol, 1,2-propanediol, 1,3-propanediol, 1,3-butanediol, 1,4-butanediol, 2,3-butanediol, 1,5-pentanediol, 1,2-pentanediol, 1,3-pentanediol, 1,4-pentanediol, neopentyl glycol, 1,6-hexanediol, 1,7-heptanediol, 1,8-octanediol, 1,9-nonanediol, 1,10-decanediol, diethylene glycol, polyethylene glycol, polypropylene glycol, polytetramethylene glycol, 2-methyl 1,3-propanediol, 3-methyl-1,5-pentanediol, 2-methyl-1,8-octanediol, 2,2-diethyl-1,3-propanediol, 1,2-cyclohexanediol, 1,4-cyclohexanediol, 1,2-cyclohexanedimethanol, 1,4-cyclohexanedimethanol, 1,3-cyclobutanediol, 2,2,4,4,-tetramethyl-1,3-cyclobutanediol, hydrogenated bisphenol A, isosorbide, isomannide, isoidide, hydroquinone, resorcin, dihydroxybiphenyl, naphthalene diol, dihydroxybenzene, and dihydroxytoluene and impurities in an amount sufficient to cause the diol composition to have an electrical conductivity of 0.6 to 30 mS/m. The diol composition may be used in the production of a polyester material having a reduced thermal weight loss rate and improved mechanical properties and molding stability.

    Abstract: Disclosed is a resin composition containing a biodegradable resin (A), a polyolefin resin (B) and a dispersing agent (C). The resin composition has a sea-island structure wherein the biodegradable resin (A) is dispersed like islands in the polyolefin resin (B) as the sea component, and the biodegrada ble resin (A) has an average dispersed particle diameter of not less than 1 nm but not more than 1000 nm. This resin composition contains a biodegradabl e resin such as a polylactic acid which places only a little burden on the e nvironment, and enables to obtain a molded article having moisture-proofing properties and dimensional stability equal to or higher than those of conven tional polyolefin molded articles, while maintaining the productivity of the conventional polyolefin molded articles.

    Abstract: This invention relates to a thermoplastic resin composition and a molded article thereof, respectively excellent in flowability and mechanical properties, and, in a preferred mode, also excellent in low warping property, laser transmittance and laser weldability, and provides a thermoplastic resin composition obtained by mixing (B) 0.1 to 4 parts by weight of a polyfunctional compound having three or more functional groups, in which at least one of the terminal structures having the functional groups is a structure containing alkylene oxide units, with (A) 100 parts by weight of a thermoplastic resin, and further provides a molded particle thereof. It is preferred that the (A) thermoplastic resin is one or more selected from a polyester resin and polycarbonate resin.
