PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a clean stretch loop fabric easily attachable to and detachable from an indeterminate base material, having mild surface touch to the skin, excellent water-absorption and excellent water-retentivity, and hardly allowing bacteria to propagate, and to provide a method for producing the stretch loop fabric. SOLUTION: This loop fabric has a loop pile yarn structure. The loop pile length of the loop pile yarn is 0.3-10 mm from the base part, and the loop pile yarn and/or the ground yarn contains 50-95 wt.% ultrafine synthetic fiber having 0.5-0.0001 dtex size based on the whole loop pile fabric. The ground yarn contains an elastic synthetic fiber. COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
