    Abstract: PURPOSE:To provide a metal oxide laminated polypropylene composite film excellent in oxygen barrier properties and steam barrier properties. CONSTITUTION:A metal oxide laminated polypropylene composite film is obtained by providing a resin layer of syndiotactic polypropylene or a mixed resin layer of syndiotactic polypropylene and isotactic polypropylene on at least the single surface of a base layer based on polypropylene and laminating a metal oxide layer to the surface of the resin layer.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To stably produce a metal oxide vapor-deposited film capable of excellently barriering a gas by treating the surface of a plastic film substrate with low-temp. plasma at a specified intensity and continuously providing a metal oxide vapor-deposited film on the treated surface. CONSTITUTION:The surface of a plastic film 5 such as a biaxial oriented PP film is treated with low-temp. plasma at the intensity of >=10W.min/m in a vacuum vessel 1. The treatment is preferably conducted in the atmosphere of a low-temp. plasma treating gas 10 such as CO2 at 5X10 -3X10 Torr in a DC glow discharge by using a magnetron electrode 8 arranged in an electrode cover 13. A metal 7 such as Al is successively vaporized from a vaporizer 6 by resistance heating, etc., in the atmosphere of a reactive vapor-deposition oxygen-contg. gas 12 to deposit the vapor-deposited film of a metaloxide such as Al2O3 having 5-10nm thickness on the treated surface. Consequently, a transparent metal oxide vapor-deposited film capable of excellently barriering water vapor and oxygen is stably obtained at a low cost.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To stably and inexpensively produce a metal vapor-deposited film capable of excellently barriering a gas such as oxygen and water vapor by treating the surface of a plastic film substrate with low-temp. plasma by using a Ti-coated magnetron electrode and continuously vapor-depositing a metal on the surface. CONSTITUTION:The surface of a substrate 5 consisting of a plastic film of PP, etc., is heated by the use of an magnetron electrode 8 coated with &metal such as Ti, Pd and Al in a vacuum vessel 1 and treated with low-temp. plasma on a cooling drum 3. In this case, the electrode 8 is arranged in an electrode cover 9, and CO2 is preferably supplied into the cover from a gas cylinder 11. The treatment is conducted at pascal and at the intensity of >=10 W.min/m . A metal such as Al is successively vapor-deposited on the treated surface of the substrate 5 from the crucible 7 of a vaporization source 6 to form a metal vapor-deposited film having about 10-200nm thickness.
